MY16 vcds adaptations

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I Just received my octavia vrs Break (MY16) yesterday and today i decided to do some coding and adaptations. I'm using vcds14.10

So changed the number plate lights to leds and coded it and works fine.

Enable the coming home lights via fogs and that also works fine.

Then i decided to enable the laptimer and the fuel quantity on colour maxidot and after the coding hit "Do it" and the "coding accepted" was displayed bu if i return to coding, it was back to stock as if nothing was changed

I've tried all the mods available via Carista, and they are all rejected ( including those you listed ), the only one accepted was the one for the ability to operate the windows with the ignition off.

I've been working with the developers and sent them all I can in terms of debug data for the ECU and they reckon they will have a release supporting the MK3 in about a month... my vRS is brand new as well, only picked up on Monday night.

I've not got my car yet but I'd start with the latest version of the software. It's at 15.7 on the Ross Tech website but in the vcds sticky there was mention of a beta version too (not sure if that's been moved to an official release by now)

"Please use the latest VCDS version, which at 01/11/14 is 14.10.2 (& Beta 15.6.1)

Earlier versions do not provide full support for the MQB platform."

AS Above you need the latest full version 15. XXX.................now available in non beta .............good to go!

I've just amended the sticky :)

thanks for the replys..but yesterday night i think "let's give a shot to old version 12.12.3"

and voilá..that did the trick and i was able to coding everything i mention above.

but still don't understand why a newer non beta version (14.10) didn't allowed me to code anything  :x

Because you did something different, nothing to do with the version.

I had something similar today whilst coding the instrument cluster, turn the ignition off, remove the keys, wait until the maxidot goes to sleep, turn the ignition back on, tried again and it worked.
