Instrument cluster needle bounce at ignition on

Featured Replies

Should they do it every time I turn the ignition on?

Only mine seem to have a mind of their as to whether they will, or not.

It's been discussed before, and it only does it after the car has been off for a while or the ignition key has been removed. Something like that, anyway.

I've found that turning the key slower ensures the needle sweep happens every time.

It didn't appear to be at all related to how long the car had been turned off etc etc.

It puzzled me too, I noticed it does always do the sweep when the steering lock has been engaged. But maybe thats because one tends to turn the key slower in those cases?

Doesnt work with the door open..

I have noticed if I turn the key slower it's more likely to do it.

Am practising my key turning technique  :notme:

Remember you don't have to turn and hold the key in the starter position - just turn and release and the starter will engage when the car is ready :)

Doesnt work with the door open..

Works fine with the door open on mine as long as I turn the key slowly!

No problem here with KESSY, needles always do the dance :)
