Milltek exhaust Fabia vrs se 1.9tdi

Featured Replies

Most BLT's are near 150BHP standard otherwise I wouldn't have said it.

Most? Not mine.

I'm at 178.1bhp with a shark map.

Normally I'd agree, in this case I'm simply making the point that fitting a 'performance' exhaust to an unmapped standard car will generally lose power, highlighting how silly these mods are when considered in isolation and also just how good the standard exhaust system is.

Me having a performance exhaust isn't isolated. I'm building for the future, with no expense spared. Yea it's a slow progress for me. But I have a house, two young kids, two dogs and a wife to support, so it's not easy.

I don't have thousands of pounds of expendable income to pump into my car. I'll not let my kids go without things like foreign holidays and luxuries to get my car finished quicker.

Before remap:

139.4bhp

365nm

269.2ft/lbs

After remap:

178.1bhp

469.7nm

346.4ft/lbs

Here you go.

Doesn't tell us a lot other than idle, you gonna post better ones?

Not my video, but here's a comparison between the Miltek and the piper

Which is which?

The black one has the piper

I can safely say my miltec is louder than that video.

What's the best pipe you can get without knackering the standard turbo? Want a bit more sound.

Just had to get the turbo reconditioned but have a bit of cash left over as it cost less than planned.

Most people keep the standard pipe and remove he back box and have a bit of pipe welded in place with a tail pipe of there choice.

I had 1 and found the twin pipes left a lot soot on my rear have now got a oval single pipe and its much better

Were all constants the same though between exhausts

Will this keep sufficient back pressure to keep the turbo happy?

Sounds like a nice cheap option.

What's the sound difference like?

Thx

It isn't back pressure, but gas speed that keeps the turbo spinning, large diameter exhausts slow the gas exiting the turbo and therefore also slow the turbo, no amount of exhaust mods will actually damage the turbo, the turbo will be perfectly happy if you have no exhaust system fitted at all. Relax.
