Skoda Newbie advice

Hi, all

My Vauxhall bit the dust yesterday and, although it has provided 166,000 miles on the same clutch and engine the bodywork/chassis has let me down. :-(

I have been an admirer of the Octavia for a while as I need something to pull my second car on trailer - a wWII willys Jeep (1.6t) or caravan.

Can anyone advise on what to look out for when considering the Octavia, please? Or any other Skoda recommendation. I'm looking at a 2009/2010 plate for round the £5-7,000 mark

I see a few on ebay that are 50K miles a year which I assume are ex-taxis??

The economy and longevity of the Skoda makes it an attractive option - off to browse your classifids now

I guess this is a common problem with the steering wheel and the silver trim piece at the bottom. Has anyone managed to find this replacement part (on AliExpress, Temu, or anywhere else)? A new one costs over €120 (https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/5e3419671vkh-steering-wheel-cover-skoda-46861.html), which seems absurdly expensive for what it is. I've seen that some people repaint it, wrap it with vinyl, or use other fixes, but I'd really prefer to find a brand-new replacement part at a rea

So had both rear control arms replaced as the bolt was seized so I couldnt get the tracking done..now the tracking place say they can't get the camber inside spec because there is no adjustment for that and it will be OK as toe is good now.. Have attached the results.. Is the camber adjustment not this bolt in the pic..(which stands a chance is seized aswell)

Hi all, I have a 2012 Superb estate with a Columbus head unit recently it has started to make a noise like a pop through the speakers then it shuts down and reboots, it does this all the time so it is not really usable. I have removed the unit because I read on one of the forums that it might be a bad solder joint on one of the chips, I wondered if anyone had experienced this and is the cure? Also on this point, I don't appear to have a bit that fits the screws on the case, could someone please

Hello Does anyone have any knowledge of how to remedy issues with the RNS510 Columbus stereo cutting out, and a pulsing kind of heartbeat sound being emitted from the speakers? Do I need to install software? If so, how do I know which type and what version I will need, and where do I get it? Thanks in advance.

Neigbour with a Fabia Mk4 called me recently, his drivers door and the rear (right) passenger doors were partly open with what looked like a stainless steel rod jamming the two doors in their partly open/closed positions, to make a long story short, it was the door umbrella that apparently had shot out somehow or other and jammed the two doors, he had partially opened the back door to let his dog out I think and had let his own door partially open, or something like that.
