Windows Media Centre

Featured Replies

Who has it on Windows 10? I have and it works, even though lots of info says it doesn't.

Might be better asking the tech shed forum :) more immediate and relevant responses. Im still win 7 on me laptop and looking to change tbh..

Sorry, I thought roadside was for anything.

I was asking the question because the ComputerActive magazine says Windows 10 doesn't come with Windows Media Centre. Well I have it on my Windows 10 Home upgrade, and it works.

Seriously, no problem.

I vaguely remember reading that it's free with the upgrade but not on the retail version.

it is.

But you're more likely to get responses and a following in the tech section.  ;)

If you upgraded, it will migrate over.

If you do a fresh install it isn't there.

Better off without it anyway, it's no where near as capable as other freebies around (I use media player classic with the cccodec pack)

Aint Home with mediapleyer and Home N without?

Thanks for that, it seems computer magazines are a bit behind with their info. I've never used WMC opting for VLC, which is brilliant.

The media player in 10 isn't great

We do have it on both of our laptops after the upgrade, but it doesn't play DVD movies. There is a DVD player in mine and Power DVD so no problem.

KODI / XBMC FTW!
