That's some impressive dedication to cleaning, I like to think I'm that snap with mine but in reality I just couldn't find the time. Following this thread though keep up the good work.

That looks brill mine was like this in the rear and it bugged me to death so stripped and cleaned but now you have shown me the door card I might be able to sort my rear door card out

Up early this morning and off to Motorline Skoda (Formerly Sherlodge Garage) in Gillingham. Russ the parts manager and awesome fella had something in stock for me. A genuine set of original WRC decals. A huge thanks to Delcac for his help putting this together.

Then off to Tonbridge TPS where Sean had more goodies. WRC sill protector. Various PCV breather pipes, some exterior trim plastics and 2 x tailgate struts. Sorry Micheal I forgot to get a battery but I'm sure I will be back at TPS in the very near future.

And then ! As the Aircon wasn't working a trip to see Derek at Aircon Directs new unit in Northfleet. If anyone has Aircon issues then seriously consider a dedicated specialist rather than Halfords or some other Cowboys. Derek diagnosed fault to fuse that was not contacting properly on the top of the battery. Removal and cleaning of contacts soon had the system working again. Derek however did test for leaks and recovered the refrigerant and re filled to the required weight. On his recommendation I shall order a new fuse block. End result 3.9 degrees Celsius exiting from the vents Brrrrrrrr !

I warned Derek not to get his grubby mitts on the newly replaced door card. However he was very careful and very knowledgeable to boot.

Carpet and headlining cleaning day today. So out with the seats then out with the wet vac.

Today's jobs. Replaced remaining door cards. Replaced broken drivers door speaker grill, fitted new mats and gave the front seats a shave.

I had a spare new front and both rears in my garage. Have ordered another front from TPS. They are £29 ish each for fronts

Looking forward to seeing this returned to it's formal glory.

I might have my cards retrimmed as mine look very similar to those old ones, was thinkin of some glue in a saringe first to see if I can bodge em lol

So a new one was sourced.

As always it's good practice to clean stuf when replacing parts.

I peeked under the engine cover today.

Not as dirty as I'd expected.

But still dirty. And so out with the cleaning stuff.

Then off with this.

Room to change thermostat and change breather hoses tomorrow.

Great progress so far, keep up the good work. Very interested in seeing the finished product, going by this thread I'm sure it will be immaculate.

Replaced thermostat and Coolant Temp Sensor today. Also replaced all the tubes that commonly split under the inlet manifold.

Like this one that had a big hole in it !

Took my time to clean engine block under the manifold and also cleaned throttle body. Re assembled with new gaskets and used original Oetiker single ear hose clamps which are original fitment.

Dipstick and tube were also replaced due to breakage. Car now doesn't have fumes entering cabin and the temp gauge gets to 90 degrees and stays there.
