Because the higher tax as its jan 01 ie £225 a yr as opposed to £130 if March 01

It's an x reg 1.9 tdi 110 elegance estate, very well kept, 11 months mot, a lot of paperwork, receipts ect but the higher tax stopped me....wants 800

Does the £95 a year extra on VED make that much difference if it is a good cars and not going to cost you £-Hundred's in putting a not so good one right?

 

Its got a MOT and if that was done at a proper Test and the car is good that is a Money saver right there.

If you are not sure if it is a good one for £800, then take someone that knows about cars to give a second opinion.

Or that can haggle better than you, 

it has an Asking Price so even if the seller will not budge much, £50 less paid is better than nothing.

It's got about 11 months mot had all the suspension, bushes, front wishbones ect ect done, not much rust underneath at all to be honest, no warning lights so far either. I fact the only thing that not working I know of is the back pass window and back wiper....but drove, stopped and steered as it should

So I guess if I'm prepared to pay 225 a yr as apposed to 130 if it was 3 months newer, get it...or stop moaning lol

and pay the VED Monthly by DD, it is not that painful.

Yea condition is very good, not a showpiece but for 14yrs old and 160000 bloody good

225quid per year is currently about 280euro. My road tax for my 1.9 tdi is 670euro per yr. Pay the bloody money....

I almost bought a 2006 Impreza this week. Registered in May 06, so £500 a year road tax!! If I got one pre 26th March 06 its only 285...on that Octavia...I'd take the extra ved as your getting a car that has been clearly looked after!

I wouldn't pay that...What annoys me is if it 3-4 months newer it'd be 130 a year but I know what you mean
