Focus RS details and pricing revealed.

Featured Replies

The RS will come with a few option packs from what I can see. A bit like the civic type r that you can buy at base or GT spec.

I'll be interested to see the finance deals on this.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this Focus RS topple the Golf R as the darling of the UK motoring press. Faster, better value/ cheaper and probably more exciting and desirable to many. Just hope it makes a decent noise. Really looking forward to seeing one in the flesh. :-)

It offers a terrific amount of performance for the money, but just wish it didn't have that 'styled and finished at Halfords' look.

That's enough about the Golf, what about the Focus ;)

Do you think that at the base price, the specification would be acceptable?

Ford do offer different equipment / price levels for their ST, models, but I'm not aware of similar pricing for the RS variants.

As for comparing it with a vRS Octy, that's a tad unfair, IMVHO.

It'll probably be specable with a lux pack or similar to get more kit. There's no way they could afford to stick everything in there at that price but rather get it out there at a very competitive base price and then allow customers to add a pack or two. I'd bet that the decent Recaro seats are an option for starters. Oh, and I certainly wouldn't compare it to the humble Octy VRS either.

Recaros £1145

Lux Pack £1000

Spec sounds great and some serious performance too

Should have gone to Specsavers!!  ;)

Guy on Focusrsoc quoting £33k fully loaded.

Currently can't verify that.

Waiting for Boss or full UK Configurator.

I would be surprised if the recaros are options, they are standard in the ST I thought? Maybe heated or leather versions?

only the cloth ones afaik, the decent ones are optional or installed only in the higher spec St-3 version.

It's a shame most fast Fords end up like this...

Now a very cheap very fast Ford?

now, now, that could be considered stereotyping! Of course, fast skodas are never pranged...

Anyway, in the defence of the mk1 RS, at times it could be a bit of a handful. I took the Superchips one out before they had launched the map - admittedly it was running far more boost than the final 'public' version did but on the heavily rutted and cambered country roads around their HQ, I found it... Challenging! In fact it was a total monster that just wanted to make you look inadequate as it tried to wrench the wheel from your hands and head for the nearest tree. And it's probably the only powerful fwd car I've driven that I'd say that about!

The mk2 was a fair bit tamer, even though it was far more powerful, no where near as raw (or challenging) and started to put on some weight. (Imo it was still a fantastic car though). Here's hoping they've realised where they went wrong and have corrected it with the mk3 :)

That's the beauty of Ford's, they are generally accessible by all.

This used to apply to Skoda and their early warm vRS models, not anymore though, far too expensive  :D

Basically, even if you throw every option at it you can't get the RS over £34,000.

Basically, even if you throw every option at it you can't get the RS over £34,000.

And I wonder how many on the standard list for the Focus would appear on the options list for the Golf R

Some people do track days.

165mph top speed means at 120mph on the main stright at Brands it'll still be pulling well, or 140-150mph at Silverstone.

I would imagine your Fabia VRS can crack 70mph.

LOL your more than probably correct..LOL

Just over 30k with the options I'd spec. I wonder if there will be any discounts to be had.

Bit of a shame on the colour front, the only decent one being the most expensive of the 5

And briskoda crashes the Ford RS configurator...

Looks like "Bi-Xenon HID headlamps with adaptive lighting" are standard, there are no other lighting in the options part of configurator.

Looking forward to finding out if any discounts will be available and what the MGFVs will be like :-)
