I'd imagine Ford would move heaven and earth to get the mighty Furbytom into an RS. Hell they might even give me one for free such is the huge marketing and publicity benefits of me being seen in one of their cars ;-) lol.

I'm not changing my name though. "Focustom" doesn't have the same ring to it...... ;-)

Looks like "Bi-Xenon HID headlamps with adaptive lighting" are standard, there are no other lighting in the options part of configurator.

Well spotted :)

For info, while dealers are taking customer spec, Ford are not taking them until your turn comes around in the queue.

Average cost seems to be 31-32k that people are ordering.

What spec have you ordered Boss?

Looks like a tempting package the RS

Kenny,

Better than splashing the cash on the RS3 ?

I wonder what 999pooch's next move will be?

No chance of the RS3 mate, haven't even booked a test

Do you know if they are they giving PCP details now?

Not yet, due fairly soon though apparently.

Hopefully soon, fancy a quote :)

I'll be very interested to hear what the GMFVs are looking like. :-)

That will be key to many PCP buyers. I think they'll need to set it high-ish to attract a larger number of punters.

Rumours are first week of October.

Soon as I know I'll put the info on here.

If it is to compete with the Golf R then they need to priced similarly. If it's sub £300 per month I think they'll fly out.

Well the Golf R had a £200 a month, or thereabouts, special at one point and they literally had queues for that.

Oh, I didn't think they were that cheap. I had a look last night and they were anywhere from £270 ish upwards. I'd imagine they are cheaper ones but I only spend 15 mins looking.

It was a special only ran for about a month.

I think it was a "bulk buy" rate some of the leasing companies got, so the price was artificially low and a bargain.

You could get a Golf R for less per month than a Fiesta ST...

I think that's why I see more R about than GTI.

Anyway, I very much doubt Ford will go down that path.

Currently there are no discounts and it's not on privilege so Ford workers can't get it any cheaper either.

I would expect them to price the PCP deals competitively as it's list price has clearly been pitched under the R with more bhp/cc on offer.

my mate works in my local Ford dealer and they have a couple on order. If I hadn't just got my citigo then I could have been very tempted, especially as a recent promotion would have easily covered it. Wonder if I can persuade the mrs to have the citigo as her's and I'll get the RS ha ha ha

Interestingly they have decided to undercut the price of the Golf R.

While giving more power and (IMO) a better four wheel drive system for enthusiastic drivers with better distribution of torque.

£5,000 more than the base model Octavia VRS.  For four wheel drive and 345bhp.

Let's hope the interior is half decent.

I'm surprised you haven't had anyone come on here saying "Aye, but the Octy has more rear legroom and a bigger boot"!!!  That's usually the case when anyone dares mention that there's an alternative to the Octy!

Boss,

Is there a PS / Tonne quoted anywhere to your knowledge.

I note the PS / Cc mentioned is approx 0.007% difference by my calc.

Not that I have seen yet.

Sounds about right.  Similar power per litre.

Means there will be headway for tuning rather than just producing a two litre car in a higher state of tune so you can't take it as far later on.

I'd be surprised if a remap doesn't see it over 400bhp.

An interesting comparison between the weight of a GTI v Focus ST current model on the Sept TG hatch test , showed the GTI 110 kg lighter than ST. That's is quite considerable, not sure how comparable that will be between R and RS.

I note the R is quoted as 144kg heavier than the GTI.

It will be interesting to see how much weight is saved by Ford Design Engineers when figures released.

No consumption or emissions figures available yet prior to Customer Ordering as far as I can see.

I guess with the current VW fiasco that manufacturers will be very careful- diesel or petrol.
