Engine management light?

Featured Replies

Hi all, been a while since i have been on here but my engine management light intermittently comes on and carrying out a diagnostics scan shows the following fault codes / descriptions. Any help with likely solutions and hopefully easy fixes would be appreciated!

P2452 - Diesel particulate filter pressure sensor "A" Circuit.

P1485 - Secondary air injecting valve 2 (N320) interruption.

I am scanning it with a generic wifi 'thingy' plugged in with Carista software on my iphone. I can clear the faults which turns off the light but it usually returns within a couple of days. The car is a 60 plate Superb tdi 140 with 100k miles on the clock.

Ideas and help would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm not sure what the air injecting valve does, but the DPF pressure sensor error probably means a fault in the pressure sensor the car uses to tell whether the DPF is full or not. I had this for the last couple of weeks - cooling fans running forced regen style probably every second time after the engine was stopped, higher fuel consumption (It dropped to about 40 mpg from about 50), but no warning light on and no obvious symptoms while driving apart from idling at 950 rpm rather than 750. The sensor was replaced on Monday (Less than €150 including labour) and everything seems to be back to normal, but I'll be keeping an eye on fuel consumption for the next few tankfulls to make sure.
