Inspection notification

Featured Replies

What does the dealer do when the Inspection is due? I have done 2k miles since the oil change was done and only 11k since new. The spanner and inspection notification is on the dash  when the  key is turned. To confuse the computer, my roomie was supplied on variable servicing set up. After the oil change the dealer programed the computer to fixed servicing so it maybe out of step. After only 11k miles I can't think of any item to inspect.

I had something similar after my second service. I took it back and the dealer reset the service indicator correctly.

Although you have done 2K miles how many months ago was the last service? The spanner indicator seems to start to come on after 10 months and then become more persistent with an alarm at around 11 months.

The service was in May. I have spoken to the dealer who says that it needs resetting so I am taking the car in on Saturday. Why was it not set properly after the last service. The same problem occurred with my sister-in-law's nearly new Fabia.

edbostan, don't worry too much about the service indicator, you can set it yourself. It's in the handbook.

Even though it's on 'variable', an annual oil & filter change is good practice to rid it of contaminants.

What year is your Roomster? Great, versatile car, eh?

63 REG. I have had it reset by the dealer so the next visit is in May 2016. That will be a major service but I estimate the mileage to be around 15k
