Nope as deal was made long before scandal came to light.

But I don't see how anybody could be penalised for it on their trade in as it something that was beyond their control. Surely vw/skoda should offer pre-scandal trade value?

My MarkII was impacted as I expected - lucky it will be back in Skoda's hands soon so they can do what they want with it on its way to the car supermarket!

My MkII write off would have been impacted too. On its way to car heaven now....

With a simple software upgrade all cars effected will be back on the road and values will continue as if nothing ever happened.

Only thing we need to know and will surely find out is how it will change the performance and Tax bracket of the car after the upgrade if at all.

The tax bracket is my biggest question.

Just checked my 62 plate Octavia TDI VRS (Blackline) and it is affected too.

I thought HMG had said that tax brackets won't change

From some of the TV news I heard yesterday, it sounded like more than just a software change - they mentioned new injectors and cats. will they retrofit an AdBlue/SCR system I wonder?

 

Mind you, we've all heard them get technical matters very wrong on the news before.
