Great work and write up Karl , I wish I had a garage again ! ( stop my cats wallking all over it ) 6 hours on mine the other day , wheels off etc , new pads give so much brake dust

Thanks Alan,

Yes, the garage is now a god send with winter on its way. Although I won't be here long due to me and the SWMBO getting our own place. Fighting to get a garage though in our budget.

Haven't seen you around for a while, although I guess the R36 is still looking ship shape! ;)

  • Thanks Karl, I did think it odd that I couldn't find it by name but it was late.   what sort of dilution do you use?  I assume you find it better than a normal car shampoo, what is it you like about

very nice buddy, a lot of effort richly rewarded by the finish!

I couldn't find the chem guys wheel soap using google, do you have a link please?

Thanks Pal, you are spot on there!

Its actually Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Gel. I have used it in a bottle with a trigger foam head but much prefer a bit in a bucket topped with fairly hot water & my Dooka wheel mitt. :) Most places sell it, it dilutes quite well too. Around £9 If I remember rightly, so good value for money!

Hope that helps.

Cheers Chris, easy enough to find with the full name, but thank you all the same.

I usually just squirt a bit into the bucket, not alot. 5l. Bucket and top with warm water.

Suds up nicely, good cleaning power, nice a slick on the paint on the alloys. Works well with the Dooka mitt. Just an extra step in cleaning the wheels as I can be quite OCD with them.

Bit like my trainers & shoes. Drives me nuts if there's marks etc on them lol.

We are all OCD Karl :dull:

Hey all, quick update on the detail.

Took the car out yesterday to work, absolutely peeing down as it does. Fusso seems to be doing it's job as I remember. Long time since I used it. Beading was second to none. Repelling water very well.

Didn't get any beading pictures as it was dark when I arrived home but will update with some this afternoon. For £25 it's certainly one to have in the detailing arsenal!

Will be more than likely be doing a maintenence wash tomorrow afternoon so will update with pics etc!

Sounds nice Karl - thanks for the update mate; Fusso is very good for the money

The rain last night was something else - the main roads were partially flooded when Alan and I were out in Bradford.

Still - the beading on the .:R36 was epic

Ease of use comes into play with the price too!

Hollins hall and otley road were flooded last night on my way home.

I don't see much Beading now with it in the garage most of the time. :(

Yes indeed - nice to have the garage sorted mate - great timing for winter detailing duties!

One of my weekend jobs is to clear space in the garage; I have some new LED lights to setup on trial.

Looking at some variations to best illuminate the car panels for inspection and polishing work

I could do with some heating in there. It's bloody freezing haha.

That sounds ideal for what your after. You should have alot of space in there once sorted. Be an excellent detailing bay once sorted!

Let us know about the lights! Only thing my garage is short of if I'm honest!

Yeah -  next time you pop over - i'll show you the two I have rigged up for test.

Cheap enough to purchase.... just depends how many I install permanently.

Should be a nice little detailing cave when sorted
