Wheeled this out of the garage a few weeks ago to do a partial winter rebuild.

Started off by removing the rear axle and sent it off to be shot blasted and have the mounting brackets re-welded as it was in pretty sorry state

Sanded down all four rear arms ready for paint

I purchased a roll cage over Xmas for a bargain. It's from a Suzuki Jimny and for the price, I thought it was worth a punt

Cut that into pieces and started chopping and welding

^ that'll be a front 'hoop' welded to the floor, then I'll be cutting the old brackets off and welding some cross bars on across the to rear hoop, similar to this hopefully:

Was also bidding on a Quaife LSD, but it went for more than it was willing to pay, so I missed out :(

My 3.54 diff arrived the other day to replace my 3.9

Took me ages to clean and degrease it, but got there eventually and sprayed/fitted it along with a new heavy duty gasket

Got the axle all plumbed in again today and stripped the rollcage down to bare metal.

I could do with some 'bondo' (plastic based filler) to tidy the cage up a bit due to some battle scars/dents from the previous owner. Any suggestions of makes of bondo?

Well, a lot of chopping and welding later and the cage is now fully installed and awaiting its second coat of POR15:

Taken the plunge and advertised it for sale :(

The Mrs isn't very keen on travelling in it and driving all over by myself isn't much fun, so it's now for sale.

Just back from a spin as it's a nice evening, so took the obligatory snaps!

Go on then. How much would something like that cost to buy?
