OK, a bit of fun:

 

The Superb is off the road from Wednesday onwards for repairs after the foreign truck hit me. I've got a hire car booked under the description of "2.0 estate (or similar)".

 

Will it even be an estate, will it be petrol/diesel?

 

Any thoughts / guesses on likely cars?

My last one was a mazda 6 estate that had been clearly heavily smoked in for the previous month, and it was for an urgent airport run  so I had no time to swap it - yuk!

Insignia or a random 4x4.

Had a 2.0 (might of been a 2.2 actually) merc C class from enterprise once.

Wasnt a bad motor by any means.

When the Fabia was away I was expecting to get a Aygo or something, ended up with a A class Merc, wasn't too bad tbh. Bit slow.

Anyway, I'm guessing a Mondeo estate

Either a mondeo estate diesel

or an saloon insignia... diesel.

Or a focus/astra estate petrol...

It's a car, I should be thankful of that, if nothing else.

 

Good points - it has sat nav, DAB radio etc; variable boot floor

 

Bad points - seats are uncomfortable as hell, part electric adjustment; no parking sensors;

I think Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham was the advisor to Vauxhall.  

Give them transport, but not too comfortable and the British Economy will pick up,

people will get to where they need to be quick, and not hang about in their cars.

 

Also the Used Market will be full of these.

 

? Who buys them Used?

Our last one was a Mokka 1.4 Turbo 6 speed auto.

 

Apart from the rock hard seats, rock hard suspension, cheap feel, rubbish headlights and ok fuel consumption.... what a hoot to drive! It was like a stabbed rat and the gearbox was actually really nice (torque converter auto box) although not as quick or sharp as the DSG.

 

I'm thinking some bland Peugeot estate or Vauxhall.

You missed out the biggest good point.

Its a hire car.. Therefore the fastest thing on the road.

Ugh i was 2/3 right out of 4 plays... dammit.

Are the interiors of the insignia really that awful? Tbh it was on my next car short list for when they came into budget, then i heard tell of rust issues etc....
