Mad gearshift in that there mow-chine - like a porcupine- the "Lightning Rod" gearshift- three levers to do the job of one!!

Ah - right - the round door mirror had me stumped for a while - so just focussed on the steering wheel then!! So many variants with different dashboards. Almost like every car was a different prototype.

 

OK - I'll go dig out something !  Might be Saturday tho'!

Well done, The Zee!  Yep, it's a DKW SP1000 from 1960.

 

This particular car -  one of three, right-hand-drive cars left in Europe - was subject of a road test in The Motor magazine in 1961 (with UK Reg 6605 ME).

 

[Edit - Addition:  Car now resides in Co. Carlow in the Irish Midlands. Has undergone a huge restoration job. (The car - not the Irish Midlands unfortunately !! )  ]
