70's, sport pedals/ wheel / open gear gate

no console/ lots of leather on dash but cheap cloth trim.

cheap looking French / Italian stalks?

Lots of conflicting clues...

Bump!

3 days and no posts??

mender should sort his IT out and put a picture up when he wins.

Sorry, I'll back out for a while.....tried for ages but pc converts to windows, mouse pad sticks and deletes everything, I get cross, etc

I thought the Matra had 3 front seats....?

It did, but the driver only used one of them, the one on the left  :D

Bigger photo added, makes sense to me now!

Only reason I know is I went in one as a child and had great fun being the "driver" on the right with a seat free in the middle giving loads of space-unusual for me used to sharing a tiny space in a Fiat 126 or Mini as a family of 6....

I can only think of three production cars off the top of my head that had three separate seats at the front (not bench seats like Ford Zodiacs, Vauxhall Crestas, American cars etc...). They are:

Matra Simca Bagheera/Murena

Fiat Multipla

Maclaren P1 (ish - staggered)

Were/are there others? There probably were.....

That took a while to find. Ford Falcon.

40 minutes... not that long, really! Well spotted:

Don't know if dad did right in choosing the Studebaker. One thing's for sure, though: Having owned (and driven) a Stude is considerably more cool than having owned a Ford... even if it only was the 6 cyl. "compact" Lark model :)
