Noisy DV for vRS

I think Denis shares my view that all genuine posters are more than welcome.

Just seen this.

If you want a DV vent sound, then a decent piston DV combined with a suitable induction kit will provide a noisier vent plus some gains from the induction kit itself (if a quality one)

Atmostpheric dump valves (which make the whooshing noise) dont work very well on the 1.8 turbo engine. The standard valve (which is very poor) is a re-circlulating type which returns ....

But my DV supposed to be standard one but is making a nice psssst ... does that means that somenthing may be wrong?

How can I check?

We tried a Dual Port Turbosmart on ours and it just didn't like it, it would hold boost ok, until the ECU realised what was going on and it reduced the boost in limp mode.

Was lovely and rich on the overrun.

Recircs can often still generate a 'pssht' sound, especially when being used with an induction kit.

The standard one seemd to almost flutter on ours, without induction.
