Creaking doors

Featured Replies

Hi I know this was raised before but, my octavia vrs (2014) doors creak, the dealership have lubricated the rubbers but it still creaks when I pull away and driving. Any ideas on what can solve this ? It's driving me mad. Thanks

Creak or rattle?

I had the same issue. I've used a silicon based spray (wurth) which has solved it (for now anyway) you could probably also use something like gt85 as it has ptfe in. Wd40 would be a last resort as it tends to turn into a grinding paste if not cleaned off regularlym

Thanks it's a creak, also after I wash or jet wash or it rains I open the drivers door water falls from the door sill onto the ground.

All 4 doors seem to signs of condensation on the sills after I was the car.

Any time I have washed the door sills before on other cars I have never come across this before, I find it strange

I'd suggest using silicon grease (Tube not spray) or gummi phlege and rubbing it into all of the door seals when you do a deep clean of your car.

This worked wonders on a MK2 and I better make sure I say silicon grease not silicon sealant.

On the actual doors at the top on each edge there's like a rubber/felt seal that runs along the top of each door that overlaps itself, you need to ensure you get the silicon grease in the join line all the way along each door, tight right to the edge on each door.

My doors creaked and despite everything else, this sorted it out for me.

Door hinges should be greased as part of a service on most cars. Check your service book and see what it says they should be doing.
