I couldn't find this topic posted on here so I though I'd share it with you guys. Sure there will be haters and dissagremenets about tyres, the track and whether the emissions test were done properly, but here you go anyway

TRACK BATTLE

And here, for what it's worth, is Conkson's P1 mini-review for good measure

So close as to make almost no difference then.

Did you see what happened to the 918 a week or so back?

I think that might qualify as a spoiler :D

The weather was against the P1, or at least the temperature's, but there again from what I have read, the P1 likes faster, open circuits.

What happened to the 918?

The owner crashed it at a motor show

Of all the cars to crash you would think this one would be the most difficult :(

Mat Jackson did some dev work for McLaren at one point, having helped develop the MP4-12C.

I've been working away for the last couple of weeks so missed all that. I see it's the same chap as lent his car to the Hypercar shoot-out above!!

Yep. Having the money to buy nice cars doesn't automatically give you the ability to drive them correctly, and the event doesn't look to have been the best organised one either.

That's certainly true. If I had the money I'd probably have the Porsche over the others for the very reason I'm not a good enough driver to even think about starting up a P1 or Ferrari x 2. I'm almost certainly not a good enough driver to have the 918 either, but I thought I would at least stand a chance of making it to my local Sainsbury's and back in one piece. Having recently driven the current M3 reminded me that I'm getting older and that Powerful RWD cars are a lively thing to be in, let alone a car with around 900bhp.

The Porsche appeals most to me, both in terms of styling and the way that they have balanced the petrol and electric power.

That said, even with a nice Euro Millions win I don't think I could bring myself to spend that much on a single car. I'd get just as much enjoyment out of a selection of different vehicles costing less.

But it would be nice to drive the Porsche with the roof off :)

Why do people say Clonkson? Surely thats something straight out of the daily mail with there pseudo journalism . Roll on their new series.

There is plenty worse I could say about him :D My Dad reads the Daily Mail :( and on the odd occasion I've read it, I haven't seen them refer to him as Clonkson. I just think it suits his character. He is himself, the master of renaming and mispronouncing things himself, so it's a bit of a homage really :D

I would like to see his new series, but I won't be paying for the pleasure. Will wait and see if ITV gets a 'deferred relay' right to show it.

If it makes you happy.

I don't like the idea of paying either but in the magical land of the internet i'm fairly confident I won't have too.

I wouldn't go as far as happy, I leave that to alcohol and chocolate.

I notice they didn't manage to get the fourth hypercar to Silverstone to do a more accurate comparison, it would have taken them like a King but I dare say Mil was busy

I'm waiting for Chris Harris' test :D

I agree, it will probably be the most enthusiastic test.

I wonder if all these videos were made before the 918 owner had the terrible accident. It appears he was fairly instrumental in getting all 3 cars together.

Big 3 go drag racing Who's your money on?

Chris Harris gets to blat the big 3 around a track. 52 minutes of it!!

Marino Francitti (Dario's less good looking younger brother) and Tiff join him. brilliant celebration of 3 hyper doo dahs. Conclusion they come to is the right one imho Mind you Mr Francitti in particular, needs a better script writer :D If you only ever watch one video of the big 3 doing battle...sort of... then this is the one.

Watching this at the moment - very entertaining :)

I think they had a good time.
