Hey folks,

Anyone has by chance a diagram howto dismantle the steering? Changed the old badges with new ones on my 09 superb elegance 170CR 4x4 and would like to order and replace the steering cover aswell with one of these:

If someone replaced their steering/cover and has a diagram..please

Just be careful as the airbag is effectively a bomb just waiting to go off...

The guide on that page doesn't show how to get that whole bit out, thats why im worried

Removing the airbag from the car is pretty simple although can be tricky.

There are two holes on the rear of the steering wheel you can get to by turning it 90 degrees left or right. You'll need to stick a screwdriver in to release the clips and then it should just fall out. Once released you unplug the harness and you're good!

There are a few videos on YouTube for vw's that use an identical system.

Usual practises apply, battery disconnected and wait for the system to discharge.
