Hi all.

 

I have been using AutoCAD LT for the past 10 years or so (no where near its full capabilities) but starting to consider REVIT LT; has anyone made this change and how did you find it?

 

I don't do too many 3D drawings mainly because I haven't had the capability to do so but I did try Architecture a few years back when that was released and it seemed pretty impressive. Looking at Revit LT, it looks pretty similar to that.

 

Any feedback is most welcome

Dan, can't answer your query, thought I'd post as you looked a little lonely out there..

Just started trying to teach myself. CAD using Autocad, reverted to Autocad Inventor, as it hasn't got that ridiculous command line.. Might be worth a look.

I have never tried Inventor but I really don't mind the command line either; I use this rather than the toolbars tbh

Depends on the product your designing I guess. I haven't tried Revit LT it looks architectural and im now a design engineer although I did start working life as an architectural technician. I have however used AutoCAD for the best part of 20 Years since LT95 but I am now a Solidworks convert. I have used inventor also but Solidworks is my favourite. If your work is architectural then I think AutoCAD is probably the one because its industry standard. Any thing 3D product design you want Solidworks.

 

I would recommend using Draftsight for 2D stuff because its Free and almost identical to autocad LT.

Ive got DraftSight on my laptop at home but AoutoCAD on my work PC as i dont pay for it!

 

It was actullay AutoCAd LT 95 that i first started on at my first work experience back in the day. I will maybe to the trial version of Revit LT and see what its all about.
