Software update, which software?

Featured Replies

Yesterday the car offered an over the air update 03U1_01 which I accepted. Is this for the car's electronics / engine etc, or is it for the Sat nav? This is the staus now. 2025 Karoq Sportline.

I have just noticed the "Update Software" so I am more confused what software I have updated. I had assumed System meat the car's system, not the satnave.

This is the System Info display from my 2023 2.0 TSI Sportline today. Compared to your 2025 vehicle; my hardware version is earlier - makes sense, Software is earlier version probably right as that is no doubt related to hardware version, Navigation database on mine is later I think Dec 2025 as apposed to June 2023I think thats the way to interpret the data, in Nov 2024 the Navigation database was 24.10. I have had all the software updates applied by dealers and OTA.

Here is ours. 2023 1.5TSi Sportline, manual. It's the same hardware and system software as thamestrader's, so that appears to be normal for 2023 models. My nav data is from February 2026. All updates have been OTA.

So it is software for the Nav. system then, not the car / engine software. Odd though that it gave a big warning not to drive the car while it was doing it for 20 min?

I would imagine that H25 is Amundsen & H40 is Columbus.

Your Satnav is showing June 2023 release. Not sure how that's possible on a '25 car? My '25 was on 25.12 & updated to 26.2 yesterday. I'd suggest an email to Skoda to query, although they're not much use. IME.

Thanks, it did say at the bottom "update software" at the bottom. I may try that. Hesitent with up dates as when the car was only 3 days old it failed to start with every possible error messages scrolling through. After many trys, + locking the car up and trying again later it started OK. Went to the dealer who spent about a hour on it found no faults and suggested it was a glitch. Not good!! recently 5 months later it did the same thing but persistent restarts / locking and leaving, finally started!

Unless I am mistaken, pressing that on-screen button labelled 'Update software' will expect you to have the software ready on a USB device.

It's just one of the many ways in which Skoda's update system is confusing.

I'm getting less confused now! I need to start again. The photo above I found on the system page I can see now is for the Sat Nav (which I need to something about). I took up the offer for update 03U1_01, and I am assuming that this up date is the car software update for the engine and other systems. The Update 03U1_01 went without problems although I see another thread where some have had problems with the OTA downloads. I had not thought that OTA meant Over The Air!

Anyone know what the 03U1_01 update was for? The photo that I should have started with is below, obviously not the Sat Nav but probably a more importent engine / car general update.update.jpg
