Mirrorlink?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Quick question

Does the Columbus unit come with mirror link as standard?

And this is the application that will let me mirror my iPhone onto the Columbus unit?

Cheers

Yes it does.

Only compatible apps with special Car mode interface (read limited) will be displayed (nothing similar to a screencast).

Prepare yourself for a disappointment :)

Ok thanks

So from understanding if I get mirror link then I get Apple car play?

So it worth upgrading to smart link?

From my reading it seems smart link only sends data to your phone?

Cheers

Smartlink is standard.

Smartgate (vehicle data via wifi) is an option

Ok thanks

Much appreciated

Must admit the documentation in the sales brochure around the Columbus is almost non existent.

Cheers

Tried the Apple Carplay thing on my recent test drive, can't see the benefit really.

I don't see the need to be able to text when I'm driving, car had satnav built in and could stream music from both usb & bluetooth...

Thanks

That's good to know

Agree with the texting etc. as Siri seems to be a bit thick with any ambient noise

Cheers

Good for google maps though, I'm lucky still have a unlimited internet account :notme:

Hmm Mirrolink, i have concerns, as its bad enough pedestrians walking heads down looking at phone and not looking where they are going, giving drivers this ability !!!!!!!!

hello. Anyone with samsung (preferable S5 lolipop) had any luck with android auto? I cannot conect my bolero with it. I can conect smartgate but only 3 apps, and no mirrorlink.

You did try to connect with usb?

smartlink works with bluetooth/wifi, but mirrorlink works only with cable. i tryied but no, id does not work. As far as i can see, iphones works perfectly, i cannot find anyone with samsung that can mirrorlink with bolero....

Q102...you'll find the Columbus manual here:

Gives loads of info. But it's hit and miss...I have a Galaxy S5 which should download Android Air. But because I need an old banking app, I've never upgraded Android from 4.4...so I'm stuck as it only works with 5 (Lollipop?) and above.

David.

I have S5 with 5.0 lolipop upgraded from 4.4 kitcat. I has mirrorlink 1.1. The car has Bolero. Smartlink sees only 3 apps from skoda, not all of them. Mirrorlink says that the device (the phone) does not support mirrorlink....i wonder if anyone managed to connect an samsung (S5 preferably) to bolero....

Seriously? (Or should that be Siriously?)

I find hands & eyes-free texting extremely useful in my job as a ballerina/gymnast chauffeur to let the little darlin's know if I'm running late, etc.

My Pioneer stereo has a reasonable link to Siri although a design flaw is that one has to be able to press the big volume control on the thing without twisting it at all. Very difficult.

Am looking forward to a simple push button that will do the same job on the Superb.
