overheating

Featured Replies

A bit of a story, but somebody might just help, 1.9 tdi

I had a recon engine fitted, after 2 weeks the heater went cold, so checked the expansion tank level, it was full, temp gauge normal, so had the head removed, professionally skimmed, and the correct thickness of gasket supplied and fitted, ok for 10 weeks, then heater went cold again, checked level, sitting between max and the top of the tank, tem normal, mechanic now thinks it could be a tank in the block, don't exactly know what he means, anything else anyone can think off that might also cause this, thermostat, EGR cooler or something else

Hi

I've a 2013 reg and the heater played up a few weeks ago, it turned out the heater system needed resetting. So could this possibly be your fault ????

Have you checked that the heater pipes are warm going through the bulk head
