Fabia Vrs Odditys.....

Featured Replies

Right.. after almost a week of ownership.. ive got a few questions and observations..

1) Seatbelts:

im sure i read somewhere on here, about the "bong" when the engine is running and the seatbelt isnt fastened. i presume theres also a dash lite to indicate this. on the vRS. there is no warning light about seatbelts. on closer investingation. the seatbelt clip seems to be fixed, with no wires coming out of it. and doesnt show any signs of having pre-tensioners. can anyone shed light on this?

2) cupholders:

does any fabia/Octy owners have the cupholders on the dash in the centre console? they are shown in the manual, but mine doesnt have them. (can they be retrofitted?)

3) speedo:

covered in another post.

4) there is no 4 :p

anyone help/ have other nit-pickings to asK?

4) I don't have one :D

There is no 4 what? Surely that should be "there are no 4", also?

Nit Picker ;)

Stimps..

does your Furby have a seatbelt warning lights, or more than one cupholder? (behind the handbrake)

insert :apologyforhijackingthreadsmiley: here :o

Edit: PS I believe "bong"s (let's not stray off the thread again :p ) for seatbelt reminders are not a legal requirement in the UK which may explain why you don't have one.

I don't think you should be using a bong in a moving vehicle, or am I missing the point? ;)

Colin - i have a warning light, but I've never been 'bonged'... There's a cup holder behind the hand-brake which is quite handy. Also two shallow places to stick drinks if you open out the glove box (but they wouldn't actually hold anything!)

That's why I put the rider about not straying again ....

... and it hurts your back bending over to suck the drink up unless you use a long straw :p

ahh, ok. so either the seatbelt thingys not working.. or the seatbelts are different design.

Sorry Nick! But you knew once someone started talking about bongs it was asking for discussion to fly off on a tangent... :D

Was just trying to stay on topic after Neo's gentle hint ...

I think the audible warning (OK, the bong) is a legal requirement in the US.

"its to remind the americans, that they are indeed driving - a car" - Jeremy Clarkson on the "bong" in a DB7GT :D

Regarding no. 2..

What you need is one of these

Boss' new Saab has a VERY nifty drinks holder. No such thing in my skud!

thats the one!!!

it shows them in the car handbook!!

does anyone have one? are they easy to fit?

Cup/drinks holders are listed in ETKA for LHD and RHD Fabias but not for the Octavia.

Just checking Denis - you do have that the right way round. I mean you can get them for Fabias but not for Octavias ? If so, then Neo's sorted...

Yes. They are only listed for the Fabia.
