Emissions scandal

Featured Replies

So just had a call from the dealer, and was informed mine is affected by the emissions. Vrs tdi combi with dsg! They said they didnt know what fix was yet and would be back in touch in January..

I bet the dealer has made a mistake. As far as I know the only recall at the moment is for NOx emissions on the earlier EA189 motor fitted to the Mk2 Octavia; the Mk3 has the EA288 which thus so far has not been implicated.

It could get pulled up as part of this newer CO2 debarcle but its too early to tell right now.

They didnt go into detail. They left a message and i called them back. Original call was to enquire if my car was due a service. It wasnt and I jokingly said I thought it might have been about emissions. At the point they asked if I wanted it checked. They ran the check and it came back as being effected. I havent checked myself as I didnt have the vin handy.

Saw online news this morning, in USA they're giving $1000 to owners of 1.9 TDI cars imeadiatly with $500 of this to be spent at a dealership. So the dealership spend will be costing them a fraction of this at cost price.

I've looked for the article again and can't see it.

Exactly the same thing happened to me.  I'd already checked to see if I was affected and they confirmed I wasn't.
