What detailing products have you bought today...

Featured Replies

As i'd just got my Octavia I thought it was a good time to restock my cleaning supplies so an order from clean your car and some other products I managed to wangle for free from work has left me with this:

I gave the car a quick wash today and stripped the previous products off and put a quick coat of EGP on and will do a more thorough job in the coming weeks and potentially even get the polisher out and do some correction work.

Looking good buddy, should keep you going for a while!

Nice little haul there James! An expensive day out.... when you include the parking! :giggle:

I've been using the tiger gloves more recenlty - after getting my first samples via WaxPack

Not as robust as i had hoped - but actually kept my hands warm enough on the last detail at 3-4degC.

Not so much bought something but managed to get round sorting out my wax case.

First time round was a disaster really, untidy cutting etc, so flipped it over and did it properly. This will eventually be filled with Definitive Pots only I hope and another case for other wax purchases! fafa8e8faf5818e2332f4c90791aca5a.jpg

Very nice indeed buddy - that looks lovely!

Something i need to look into.... improved storage for the wax collection.

That's looking good mate and some nice waxes amongst them too. I need a tidy up really, most of my stuff is scattered here there and everywhere lol any cupboard with a shelf is being used.

I can't remember where I saw the idea now but instantly wanted to do It. Only problem is the cases them self's are like £25+.. not cheap if I'm honest!

My stuff used to be everywhere too! One of the reasons I got this & a shelving unit in the garage. I need to figure how to keep that tidy too lol!

A really nice touch mate and a wax for every occasion too! If you feel the need to offload the Petes 53..... haha

Thanks Neil, it helps keep everything in check!

It's half full is that pot! To be honest it's one of my favourite waxes. Especially with its no cure time & the gloss it produces!

Not used a bad CG product yet!! Not much can beat it for me. Very underrated brand. They're an absolute pleasure to use.

Agree mate! They also do videos for every product on how to get the best out of it!

Managed to give another 2 of my new products a run out today;

bottles.jpg

The car hasn't had a wash for about 10 days. Protection on it is 3 month old Jetseal and it gets a weekly shot of Sonax BSD.

pre.jpg

Impressed with how thick the foam was, I'll try diluting it further next time.

foamed.jpg

This was after about 10-15 minutes after I'd washed the wheels.

foam%2010.jpg

Looked to be shifting some dirt....

dirt.jpg

This was the result after I'd washed it off with the Nilfisk......I was very impressed.

It really didn't leave an awful lot for the Carchem 1900 to deal with. Having said that I was also impressed with that as a shampoo. It only needed a small amount in the bucket but still produced plenty of suds, felt very slick and cleaned off the remaining dirt (which wasn't much) with ease.

Definite thumbs up for both products. The wheels incidentally had the foam applied and were agitated with a Wheel Woolies brush from my wheels bucket that had CG Wash n Gloss shampoo in it. I didn't use any specific wheel cleaner, and they have no protection on them at present as I keep promising myself I'm going to get them refurbished.

Nice little review mate, I seen alot of people raving about the obsession wax foam I don't think I seen a bad review yet, and good choice of shampoo car chem was one of the first I used years ago and still one of my favourites. Good job mate.

Looks like Jay has added an excellent snow foam to the line up there! Thanks for the reviews buddy. Glad to see that the 1900 lives up to all the hype too. Great value shampoo. Really appreciate your thoughts on them.

Had a halfords gift card from Christmas. My wash mitt for the lower half of the car was falling apart so another one was bought & some glass cloths to make up the gift card amount.

Only thing I could think of getting! Big list of products at home so didn't wanna duplicate anything.

The glass cloths seem decent I must admit. The wash mitt is just for lower half's & sills. £6 can't go wrong!

For the lower sills - i managed to get some really cheap synthetic wash mitts for £1 each.

I'll show you them next time you are over. Now for £1..... you cant argue at all!!!!

Its the way to go Karl. I can track what i pay from year to year on products etc.

So i then also know when its a "good deal" or a "bargain".

Havent used these wash mitts in anger yet - short pile synthetic wash mitt for odd jobs.

They were on sale before Xmas at £1..... they have shot up in price now to £1.15 :giggle:

Ah I won't bother then, expensive now that hahahaha! ;)
