Did you download the correct maps for your system (MIB1 Amundsen?)?

Are you using a genuine Skoda SD card?

Did you delete the original files from the SD card (i always do a backup onto a PC first), then unzip the downloaded new maps first before copying the unzipped files to the SD card?

Yes I deleted 😞

Hello everyone, I’m new here, and I was wondering if anyone has already switched to the new version MSTD_EU_SK_P6230 proposed by MIB Helper. Also, if anyone has the file so I can update my software, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone

Can someone please help me with where to find the latest update of my 2015 Skoda Octavia Amunsen system? or would someone be kind enough to send it to me. I have tried looking at MIB solutions, but I am not convinced I found the latest update, which will not break my system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the latest navigation maps on a Skoda-compatible SD card online and am currently waiting for that to turn up, but I would like to make sure the firmware is also up to date.

Thanks Louise

Hi there,

could anybody please send me along update files for the Amundsen and the MIB1 navigation?

image.thumb.png.969e1991f615770e36e4fd28d940a6a6.png

As I've seen there are updates 🙂

(yes there is dust in my car xD )

If needed I have genuine VCDS...but I bet the update is done from SD card or USB?

I can't seem to edit my post, therefore new post:

I am not sure, what model I actually have?

Is what I get when entering my VIN on the updateportal...

A 2014 model will be  MIB1, the MIB2 was not introduced until mid 2015 and the MIB3 was never fitted to the Octavia Mk3.

The message you are seeing on the update portal is because Skoda stop issuing map updates 5 years after a MIB unit is no longer used in production - which for  MIB1 means no updates after 2020.

Read this thread. Towards the end there is a work around which give you a map update to I think  2023. I did this with mine.

Then why does the update portal show me those files to update my navi if it's a different model?

Weird.

Anyway: Now I was looking back quite some pages for the latest version download, could not find the one for the mib1.

A link would be cool!

Also @varooom

what would the latest firmware update bring? Any big changes? If not I don't see a point in doing the upgrade (unless there really are no big risks doing so)

I didn't notice any difference with the update. Bit of an anti climax.

Because the update portal is a poorly designed website!

Hello,

would anyone be able to send me an update for my Amundsen MIB1 (I think - in a 2014 octavia), part no. 5E0035874A to penwen123 [at] gmail.com?

It's part of trying to troubleshoot a problem where the infotainment system will randomly turn off, and after a while might randomly turn on again, which gets pretty annoying. I can then turn the unit on and off, but if it's turned itself  off I can't use bluetooth or check things like tire pressure sensors. It's like the car has turned off - I get a message saying 'don't forget your phone' when it turns off while driving, and if I turn it on it tells me to turn on the ignition to get the bluetooth connection again. If anyone has experience of this or other links please share - I can't seem to find a similar scenario from anyone online, but I'm sure they're out there.

I doubt the software update will resolve the random on/off issue (but still need to rule it out) and there is something funny about the head unit. I'd an auto electrician tell me that was the issue, not power/connections.

@pab567, I've read you can advise on a replacements or upgrade for when the firmware update doesn't solve my issue. I'd probably look to upgrade if I need to replace the head unit anyway.

I have updated my Amundsen from 0435 to a newer version which can be found on the net. :)

I don't want to share the link here to avoid deletion but I will kindly PM it together with the instructions.

VCDS or VAS is needed for the last step of updating (to confirm SW version change and clear some fault codes).

This update is suitable for MIB1 Amundsen and Bolero and can solve some issues (sound quality, FM reception, graphics, touchscreen).

In my case (0435 Amundsen with Canton) I noticed the following:

- far better playback quality (decoding) of lower bitrate mp3's (now it's hard to tell the difference between 192 and 320 kbps)

- some change in EQ frequencies (slightly deeper bass / clearer treble)

- noticeable gain in treble (now +6 is like +9 before)

- some gain in maximum volume without automatic bass limitation

- better shuffle playback algorythm in case of hundreds of mp3's in the same folder (mine kept repeating the same 40-50 mp3's)

- better (but still not perfect) access of SD card on start (occassionally the HU still switches to CD/radio)

I never listen to the radio so can't tell anything about FM reception. :)

UPDATE IS DONE AT EVERYBODY'S OWN RISK!!!

Please can you tell me or send me the zip file link for the 490 file pleade
