Well, the new 1.4 L&K Yeti collected today and brought home. I'm rather impressed actually, though I've only done 6 miles in it so far. Seems quieter than previous one, but initial thoughts are th

  • Yippee, new 1.4Tsi arrives at dealer today, having been built week 15. Had phone call asking if they could register it this month to boost their sales figures for April. A full tank of fuel or similar

Been to drop the retention for private plate at the dealers and had a quick play with the car.   Didn't drive it but started her up and much quieter as expected than the diesel.   Satnav/audio uni

I placed my order for a Skoda Yeti 1.4 L & K with rear mudflaps, tow bar and spare wheel on March 2nd ... Dealer says it may be August before I see it .... can anyone give me a rough time frame for the build and delivery of this model ... and has anyone taken delivery recently.

Thanks in anticipation

Alan

Hi Alan

I ordered 31st Jan

It arrived the 1st week of March

I was quoted 12 weeks - but here in less.

Thanks for the replies lads, most grateful .... Reckon I'll go camp on their doorstep ....

Can get windy in Powick, but at least there is a pub across the road, or Mr Tsang's chinese next door!!

The 1.4 L&K seems to be the model with the longer lead times. I ordered on 18th Dec, was told at the start of the year a build date of week 14.

Hi Freedom .... Not purchased from Powick (but you seem to know the area very well, we live on the Lower Wick Estate), but purchased from Mitchells near Chester .... I have my reasons.

I've just spoken to the dealer who informed me that they were expecting a delivery today and that mine should be included.  I forgot to ask him to let me know if it had actually arrived, but I will email them to check.  All being well, allowing a week for post delivery prep  & check, and fitting the dash-cam I bought, I should be (carefully) driving it next week.  BTW I ordered it in the first week of Jan.

I presume this is to me.

Lived in Worcester until 2003, but on the other side of the river in Warndon Villages, and my daughter still lives in Malvern. In fact my wife was in Worcester over the weekend in my Yeti.

I still use my old MSA Radio call sign of "Worcester 1" as it was the CSMA Group in Worcester who bought the radio.

Hi again Llanigraham, sorry about the prior confusion, it also seems we have a lot in common.

Many years back I used to rally a Mk1 Escort Mexico and have spent many a cold and wet hour, marshalling in Dovey forest on both the RAC and Welsh Rallies.

My call sign on Amateur Radio is G4RJU.

And now we will both drive Yeti's.

Small world isn't it!

My car is coming from Mitchells Skoda near Chester where our son is Assistant Sales Manager, maybe he is trying to wind his old chap up .... He's doing a good job.

Evening.

Were/are you a member of 60 & Worcester MC?

I was for many years, and used to marshal with Malcolm Limerick, and did a few non-rally events with them

Currently doing the Foundation Course for my "ham" licence.

As you will find there are several of us Yeti owners involved in motorsport, both radio operators and competitors.

This is in pre-Yeti days, when road rally cars carried advertising:

1984_zps48644593.jpg

We were one of the Sector Marshals so were classed as a Course Car.

This was my friend's company car as he was an area manager for Skoda GB.

He drove I navigated.

1.4Tsi L&K Order placed 15 Jan

Originally told it would be built week 15

Then brought forward to week 11

Then put back to week 20

Latest update is now week 19.

Looking at the much quicker period from order to delivery indicated in other recent posts for 1.2TSi & 2.0 TDi's I'm starting to wonder if there's a shortage of 1.4 engines...  or maybe L&K trim.... or Muscovado paint..... or.... who knows!

Phone call from the dealer again this morning.

'Anticipated' build date has jumped forward 4 weeks to week 15, although this is still not a 'confirmed' date yet.

At least it appears to be moving in the right direction.

Maybe they've suddenly found another batch of 1.4 engines/trim/etc! Despite the disappointment of the delay, I'm impressed that the dealer is keeping me informed.

Does seem to be a bit of a lottery.

Ours was 6 weeks order to collection. Signed the order Jan 30, collected the car March 14.

And I know it wasn't a ready built dockside job.

I got an email from Skoda on factory day, and the service app confirms a build day of 17/02/16 per the VIN.

Its also possible that dealers have pre booked slots, to keep their sales up.

Slots in the line? Didn't know they could do that.

Collected her today. What a lovely car. Drives lovely. Well impressed

Possibly a car ordered for stock that they could still alter the spec?

Perhaps. I'm sure there'll be all sorts of behind-the-scenes stuff. I know ours was built to the order, but our extras would have taken 30 mins tops.

 No. 1.2 SE.

No. 1.2 SE.

It seems the big delay is just on the 1.4 L&K (like we have on order) then.

i ordered 29th Feb, 1.4 L&K. only extras were a front isofix point and fold up trays in the rear.  haven't heard anything yet. suspense is killing me.

SE Outdoor ordered on 10 Feb. Build date originally week 13 then 12. Call from dealer yesterday, built and ready to catch the train.

I ordered my 1.4 L&K with no options towards the back end of Jan. Chased the dealer today and they said it is scheduled to be built in April then around three weeks to get here so it will be early May so I make that approx 14-15 weeks.

Sounds like yours will be following mine down the production line Catflap

Ordered 1.4 L&K with quite a few options on 13th Feb. It was built last week and is en route to the UK. Dealer says I should be able to collect by 2nd week of April.

Which options have you gone for?

Mine is a bit over the top with options but I love it.  :D
