Thanks for the input folks.

"I'm not going to let the matter go and I intend to let Citizens Advice take the matter forward from a legal perspective."

Just so you are clear. Citizens Advice will not pursue the action for you. They provide advice and signpost clients to appropriate remedies.

Thanks for that, I have spoken to them and was under a different impression, I'll speak with them again.

I've now got the company director's home address from Companies House so he'll be getting some communication from me.

I don't think sending something to the directors home address is the right way to go at all, you need to keep it professional and go through the correct channels. I wouldn't expect anyone to contact me at my home address, if they did anything they sent me would go straight in the bin.

You probably feel the correct channels haven't worked for you up to now, but if you want to contact the director directly either use the business address, or preferably turn up in person and have a face to face discussion keeping it polite but being firm.

How on earth would copying correspondence to his home address be unprofessional?! He is a company director, his company have been given ample opportunity to respond / resolve through the usual channels. I honestly feel that if I just sent correspondence to him at the dealership it would not reach his desk.

If, as a company director, you would throw someone's serious and valid complaint in the bin just because they'd had the audacity to send it to your home address then that's up to you.

I have no intention of making a 2 hour + round trip to visit the dealership.

I agree.

It's very easy to make comments when you're not in the situation yourself. If I was a company director and someone had gone to the extreme of writing to me at my home address I'd certainly look into the matter. I guess some people just don't give a toss.

EDIT: I've emailed the Director, will give him until Tuesday to respond before turning to Trading Standards and the motoring press.

Its business mtter, he trades from a business premises, you go via the business address not a home address.

I would arrange a face to face meeting to discuss it

I had an issue with my Nissan Qashqai and wasn't getting anywhere with the dealer (WestWay) fixing the issues. I'm not local to the dealership (over 150 miles away) so couldn't exactly pop in to 'apply a little pressure'.

I found the email address of the MD of the dealership (they are huge!!) and within 30 mins of sending a precise, civil and not emotive email, I had a response from him assuring me the matter would be resolved. An hour after that I had the branch manager speaking to me with an action plan which involved them driving to me and leaving me an identical car while mine was taken back to resolve the issues. The overall cost to them must have been in the region of £1500 as none of it could be done under the warranty. I had their car for nearly 4 weeks and put 2,000 miles on it (it arrive to me with 300)...

I wish you luck with whatever course you take. I'm now off to work out how to adjust the water jet on the rear wash/wipe of my superb (looks like a bitch to do!)

Pete T, I too had something missing from my order. Skoda failed to fit the Auto Park to my Superb company car. It came with front and rear sensors but not the side etc. They offered the same as you were. Take it or leave it. Luckily the Lease company were more understanding. As a good will gesture, they fitted a full removable tow kit. This turned out to be a far better option as all the auto park demos I have seen in the office car park have been epic failures.

I know of a couple of people who have used that tatic as a last result (one was to the boss of P&O) which worked a treat. So you must use what ever is in your arsenal if other avenues have been ignored.

Its good to highlight this bad service so we can all avoid them.

If they apologised to you and gave you a gift of similar value you'd be happy.

Customer service is easy, but some firms get it so wrong.

Well I checked with skoda uk and it looks like Pete you are not the only one who they got the order wrong. Looks like they have not put my rear wiper on my order as well. But the car isn't due to be

Built until January so they have got time to add it to the order. They better not put the build week back because of there mistake.

Glad I checked now.

Thanks Woody, that's interesting feedback. Same dealer, same error. Can I ask what date you ordered? I'm glad you've sorted it

Ordered on the 18/09/2015 1.4 tsi act sel exec in pacific blue with pegasus alloys traffic assist and all round parking sensors. Not a long list but looks like they still got it wrong. Yet to talk to the dealership but it will be sorted well before the build week.

Hope you get a better solution to you problem.

It's just the wiper. Yeah its inconvenient but lets be honest it looks better without anyway !! Buy a bottle of RainX.

The nanolex glass treatments are superior & last longer - just saying.

I agree, I'd get over it & move on unless you can find a suitable replacement immediately (or can get a cheap hire car while you are waiting).  I think Skoda, etc know they have the OP over a barrel.

My wife was a director of a major charity.  There were some legal issues & all correspondence including the summons was delivered / served at our home address.

Really Glad you have finally got some movement form them.

I called them today and told them about my missing rear wiper and they were very sorry and added it straight away and informed me that the car had been brought forward to week 1 next year so might have it be end of Jan fingers crossed.

Looks like they are learning how to treat there customers.
