Dealer unable to activate auto door locking in 1.2 SEL

Featured Replies

I took my Week 21 build 1.2 SEL into the service department for them to activate the auto door locking / anti hijack feature. They were unable to do so. Apparently my car does not have the embedded software to allow this. It only brings up the three options on the owner controlled lock screen. They called the sales department who told them it was not a feature on my model and only on the trim level above. I politely pointed out that the SEL is the top of the range trim. The service manager was very polite but was at a loss to assist. Apparently they plugged in their computer but could not make the necessary changes. Anyone able to assist?

?

Itsa DIY- job done in the car-setup feature.

Does this mean that the current Fabia has changed to using the 6R0 BCM - I ask that as that seems to get the blame for the current Polos not being able to be programmed like you want, progress ????

If Fabia still uses the previous BCM, I'm sure that anyone with VCDS will be able to sort that car out, maybe even Carista would work?

Wel it's obviously not a DIY job or otherwise I am sure the technicians at the dealer could have done it. The options are not showing up on my system and apparently could not be accessed by the service guys using their plug ins either. What is BCM and where do I read off what version is installed.

Mine has it. I asked for it to be enabled before I picked up the car, the only car I couldnt get this enabled on was the Citigo MC I had.

My wife's car, which is SEL spec didn't have this feature available within the menu on the head unit. Despite the sales guy telling us that it was the case and that when we got the car we could simply activate or deactivate it ourselves. As I expected when we picked up the car this wasn't the case(which he was shocked by and apologised for) and we had to take it back to get it plugged in where it was possible for them to do it. It was built some time in July, so not sure if that makes any difference or not.

I have just spoken with CS and they are looking in to it for me.

& so they should,

then they should communicate with their official Dealerships and tell them to give staff some training,

and if they have not a clue about things find out and stop talking Mince.

It is a bit of a joke that Skoda, VW, Seat & Audi Main Dealers will be busy doing Software Updates in 2016 because

of the VWG Emissions Scandal and they have all the gear and no idea in many dealerships even where there are supposed

to be Trained and Qualified 'Factory Trained Technicians.

Sales and Service Desk Staff leave a lot to be desired.

Sorry, mine has it, delivered at the dealer week 18, so probably build w 15-16 or so.

On my 1.2 SE L the dealer activated it in about 20 minutes, whilst I had a coffee. He couldn't figure out "Needle Sweep" though. Am I bovvered? No.

NOT my original supplying dealer..but a local dealer "activated" auto locking @ approx. 8mph, needle sweep, alarm "cheep" warning & enhanced sound "woofer" it was done as a "good will gesture" &,all because I agreed to have my service plan transferred to them...plus closer to where I live....a wise move ? I will have to wait & see !   {SEL 110}

Okay, but I was meaning 2016MY build cars, which probably means week 27> factory build, I meant to write that early cars would have 6R0 BCM and later cars maybe 6C0 BCM. It is the 6C0 BCMs that seem to cause the dealers problems wrt recoding I think.

The polo seems to have the same issue currently

VAS can only make select changes.

Id wager someone with a cable and a recent copy of VCDS could get this working for you.

I wanted Alarm chirp on my MK7 Golf but the dealers couldnt do it because VAS is unable to as its not an approved option on UK Mk7's. I know its possible using VCDS though.
