    Good news!

  • I like the look of them in anything other than basic black bumper spec. The Stepway version particularly. On looks alone, I'd rate it higher than a number of other new cars.

If you need a little taxi in Agadir its either a 30 year old French hatch, or a modern Dacia. (spot the difference ;) )

If you need a big Taxi in Agadir its a 30 year old Merc.

Moroccans love Dacias - they're everywhere.

Good on fuel them, full tank lasts 10 years

Driving position: Big-enough for a 6-footer or is it designed for miniature SE Asian ladies, with tiny feet ?

As is well known, early Duster's had big-problems with paint finish and rust, especially in the joined seams. What's the Sandero like ?

Similarly, interiors and fittings are sparse on the entry models. dashboard-not-too-attractive, same with Sandero ?

Not too many of the dealerships round my way yet so getting the book stamped (For warranty requirements) might be a problem for some.

Well, I'm 6' 1" with size 11 tootsies and found it fine, which is why I started to consider one to replace my old Fiat Stilo which having the typical Italian driving position wasn't as good - better specced than the Dacia though.

Interior was a bit basic and plasticky but it looked OK and did the job, which for a cheap runaround/2nd car is perfectly adequate. But reading about residuals put me off a bit, though if keeping for sometime isn't a problem.

When I got back to work after Montenegro there was a brand new one in the car-park in metallic red (would be my choice) which looked nice. They certainly look better than some others.

Picture of the hire car in Montenegro. No rust! :D

I'd be paranoid about residuals after owning a Stilo too.  :D

:D  It was 11 years old when I bought it so no problems there!

Don't know why I was worried about losing a few grand on a Sandero though when I've lost bucket loads on new VWs and Audis over the years, not to mention my current TT!

And will lose more on the Yeti any way, given that it was quite a bit more expensive, much nicer though!

I try not to think about how much I've lost on cars and bikes! You only live once!

They are good cars. Just a old shape clio in not so pretty attire :D

My son in law bought a Sandero Stepway 1.5dci Ambiance new back in March this year, suits his needs perfectly i.e loads of space for 2 car seats for the children, decent size boot for shopping and for his air soft outings, and seems to be very economical as well.

Previous car for him was an astra 1.7 diesel (2004 model), he reckons the Stepway is a much better all rounder and better to look at.
