Anyone had experience of mobile scuff repairers?Can anyone recommend one in the West Midlands area?

I got my bumper scuffs removed yesterday and was pleasantly surprised.I originally got an estimate from Chips away of £156 and,just for comparison,went to a firm called Carsmetic who quoted me £108.Obviously I took the cheaper price and left the car with them yesterday.When I went to collect I was very pleasantly surprised to be charged only £30.The guy said that the scuffs had been removed when they did a "Flat & Mop" whatever that is.As far as I can see they have done an excellent job with no blemishes evident.I am very impressed with the quality and honesty of Carsmetic as they could just have charged me the original price and I would not have known any different.

I am leaving all my (Her's!!!) scuffs and wait until they constitute worth doing! ;<0

Likewise, used the local Chips Away franchise by the office when I grounded out and smacked the lower drivers side sill. Did a good job repairing the dent & scuff, and repainting the affected area. All in was about £150 IIRC.

However, Chips Away franchisees vary in quality. For example, the one near home (Heathrow) is, based on my first hand experience, awful - very shoddy work. Get a referral from someone who has used them so you can see the quality of the fix.

It means that the scratches were only in the clearcoat, and were able to be removed simply by machine polishing the affected area - no repainting required!  Lucky outcome!
