Current thinking is a new windscreen... :envy:

It may be that that side simply isn't plugged in, there's a wire and plug coming off each bottom corner of the windscreen....

First frosty morning with my new car. Opened the fuel tank flap and got to work with my fab Simply Clever free ice scraper!

My advice to you would be to keep that scraper in the glove box. Wouldn't be the first time I've gone for it and found the cap frozen shut.

Aww man!

I've been praying for frost just so I can try my heated screen. Will be such an anticlimax if this happens!

Will undoubtedly still have to scrape the side windows though...

You might just want to check the fuse, in most cars with heated windscreens the two sides are fused separately. Could be the simple things?

And your right, under the bonnet fuses,  fuse 21 is L/H windscreen, for info 34 is R/H.

A scraper noooo. A girl at work has scratched the glass all over her windscreen with a scraper.

All sorted, turns out it was a connector that had been left off when the car was built.

Dealer is now annoyed that they had to order in a screen which they (apparently) cannot return...

Thanks to all who (correctly) suggested the solution..

Poor old dealer!!!! Why did they order one before they had tried the easy things first? That'll teach em.

Someone will need one before the winters out. They'll sell it to a repair company

I applaud that dealer For ordering the screen before the car even got there. That's what I call great customer service and trying not to inconvenience the customer anymore. If it turned out to be the screen, vegit8 would have to make a return visit to get it fitted. Good on that dealer.

Hmm............So a loose connector on the windscreen how did that get past the QC at the factory, as they can check voltage etc & com faults ......that must have thrown up a fault code in the can gateway module......................idiots!!

Read more posts on this forum. It's blatantly obvious that skoda QC is an optional extra.

Having said this I not heard anyone mention they have received free extras due to skoda lacklustre QC...

I've used an ice scraper on all my cars for the last 12 years and never had any scratches that I've noticed... And I'm fairly into detailing and would like to think I would notice them when cleaning the glass! Always used to use the bargain bin scrapers with a hard plastic edge that also had a foam bit and a rubber squeegee too

Its usually scraping a screen on a not so clean car thats the issue. You end up micro-abrasing the screen after time.

My wifes 57 plate Astra had this something chronic....was horrible when driving at night. Sold the car before getting around to breaking the screen and justifyably replacing it :-)

I normally was my cars once a month so wouldn't class them as spotless but I've never seen any scratches other than ones caused by shot wipers and dirty window seals. My wife's mx5/eunos is 21 years old... Now that has some epic vertical scratches from the seals on the side windows :-(
