Welcome to the club :)

Is it staying standard?

Wheels are going gunmetal grey on Monday, should be ready to collect Wednesday.

Got some Depo headlights, normal not xenon but with black insides, so will fit them and spray the grille black to match them.

Got a front splitter to go on as well.

So got a pile of parts to go on, just nothing major just yet, going to give it a full service, timing belt and water pump before Christmas so that's around £200 I'm going to spend straight away!

Looking good mate!

Got plenty to update just been so busy!

So the timing belt was due soon so thought I'd get it over and done with so replaced it with a full INA kit and water pump. Took a few pictures along the way but went straight farward.

So one of the first updates now all the maintenance is out the way was to change the Radio. I didnt have the code for the factory radio and the previous owner didnt know it, but because he had an afermarket radio in, now the original one was fitted it wanted the code!

I went and bought a MFD1 Satnav, i've always liked them and had them in my previous fabia, easy to link up to my phone/ipod etc, ideal having the multichanger to link up as well so seemed like an ideal solution.

So of course....

Got a spare morning this moring so booked the valet company to come give the inside the full works!

All the seats were removed so the carpet could be wet vaced front to back with nothing in the way, it gives me a chance to clean all the runners properly as well... you get the idea anyway!

Wanted to have my interior out for a while, just never had time to do it. Looks lovely :)

Looking good. Have you got any with the new coloured wheels on?

  • Author

Not yet, but they got done before the timing belt and valet!

I have a couple of pictures but none on the car, so waiting till I've cleaned them and washed the wheel soap off etc before I take any full pictures.... Monday / Tuesday.

To my suprise some goodies got deliverd today. I wanted the proper trim to go round the double din sat nav I fitted earlier, with the curve at the top and slightly curved sides.

I was told they are on back order and have no idea when they will turn up, so a week ain't bad!

I still need to clean the dash and radio etc so will clean them all with a detailing brush and apply some of the interior plastic trim and shine so bring everything up nice :)

Had plenty of rain since doing the door seals and they are all dry, so looks to have been a success!

Next up was to replace the smashed fog light on the drivers side, It was smashed when I bought it, don't have any clear pictures but here's a close up from an earlier photo.

Once I removed the bumper and had a chew on replacing it... I had some flyeye tint left over so tinted both front fog lights, came out pretty good actually :)

Now... I've purchased a new K&N filter kit with the recharge etc but I'm in two minds about fitting it since I know what can happen with them!

I figure I'll remove the airbox and clean that so its 100% spotless and make sure the filter is 100% clean and just keep ontop of it.

I'm going to remove my piper cross filter soon and put either a standard filter in or a s2000 inside the box.

I ran a jabbasport cone in a box filter for ages and had no trouble with it.

Pioercross seems to be the worst for me, I've seen first hand what it can do to the turbo, really had chewed up the blades.

I like the idea of the s2000 filter but don't really want to mess around with the intake that much, I'm thinking of just getting a new genuine paper filter. It's only going to be around 220bhp when it's done and around 170bhp currently so hopefully not a major issue.

What turbo are you going with? I'm hoping to get to 260ish if the price of a hybrid from unit 18 is reasonable.

GT1752 is what I have in mind, that remapped to over 220bhp and had more to give on my other Fabia but the stock clutch started slipping so got left at that. All in all... I'm not going to turn the SE into a track beast, so think maybe a pd170 hybrid on the BLT manifold to keep the EGR valve is what's best, that's good for 200bhp so I'd be happy with that.

I'll clean out the EGR, ASV and manifold next year and fit the more restricted gasket on the EGR, seems the best of both worlds then.

Next up was a cupra splitter, more of a test fit for now to see how I like it and get on with it so only held in place with 4 screws, think I might trim the edges a little and tuck it in more, needs to go slightly to the passenger side as well.

Looks much better. Should of had a splitters standard.

  • Author

Yeah i agree, makes the front end look alot meaner!

Its one i had taken off my previous vrs due to scuffs so isnt in the best condition (although looks alright with some trim polish on) so ill buy a new one in a few weeks once ive ticked some other things off the list!

Think ill have to fit Depo head lights or get the grille spray painted black next, not sure :D
