Pm sent regarding the lights, will just see how many pairs of decent condition lights I can get my hands on I suppose!

Anyway, just orderd a few bits and pieces tonight, got a delivery a few days ago for somthing I've got in mind so orderd the rest of the bits to finish that off, sadly they are coming from Germany so will see how long they take.

Also orderd 3 litres of Titan 75w80 gearbox oil so will do a gearbox oil change and set the linkage cables since it's just ticking over the 100,000 mile mark. Don't have any problems as such just don't like the feel of the gearbox first thing in the morning.

Definitely going to do this to mine, they are starting to fade, so whilst i am cleaning them, might as well make them a bit better :)

Yeah, it's much easier polishing the lenses up while they are off the car, can go edge to edge without worrying about the paint.

I've got 8 hours in the office tomorrow afternoon with about 30 minutes of work to do... so will put the guide up in the afternoon when I'm bored :D

Decided to do all the oils today... wish i never botherd! what a chew on its been.

The sump plug has been leaking since i bought the car, i gave it a small nip up a few weeks back when fitting the exhaust but its still leaking.

So today i bought a new oil filter, fuel filter oil and sump plug.

Changed the oil filter no problem, took the sump plug out and drained the oil. The sump plug was strange, different size and lengh to others ive used and had a copper washer so knew it was after market as the oem ones have fixed 1 use washers, not copper washers.

Came to refit the new sump plug and it was like hotdog in a letterbox... it had been stripped and a slightly bigger aftermerket one forced in its place.

So the sump had to come off and heli-coiled, a pain to do but at least the sumps spotless now and has a stronger thread than new! :)

It also means the oil is very clean as i had to move the car from draining the oil and removing the sump so its had 10L of clean oil today! so the oil is nice and gold for a change, hopfully stays that way for a little longer now.

Changed the gearbox oil no problem, was a large Allen key for my bungs on the gearbox not the security spline ive used preivously. Oil was filthy coming out but had no trace of glitter or metal filings which was good to see. took about 1.95L of oil before it started over flowing so still have a small amount left over, so can confirm you only need to buy 2L for a change. Will see if it improves the feel of the gearbox tomorrow morning when its cold again.

no pictures as such box a nice box of the oil :D

yeah please hutchy that would be fab!

A Few pictures of behind the headlights since a few have asked.

This picture doesn't do the side light justice, being LED and having the 4 at the end, I've fitted it so two of the led's sit just under the projector so still give off light and the other two glow around it, looks really good in the dark, will get some tomorrow night after work.

So... I've been trying to work out this mess today!

The plans for heated seats are go go go!

I've ended up with a large pile of parts..

Kufatec wiring loom for Fabia

Heating elements for drivers and passengers seat

Control unit for each seat

2 sets of heated seat switches

2 sets of plugs for each switch

2 brackets for under each seat

Hope the seats go well, definitely on my list if they're not too much of a pain to do

Well it's cost me around £150 for the parts and going to cost £100 for a leather specialist to fit everything in the seats and check them all out.

I'll be doing the wiring in myself, possibly with the help from a local auto electrician.

Having it all set up on the floor it doesn't seem that bad, the wires and plugs all match up nice and easy and make sence, the five wires I've got left over are going to be the tricky bit. It then needs coding in to be factory.

My dad was an electrical engineer so that part is taken care of, id be worried about ruining my seats :(

Ah your lucky then!

Opposite to me, my leather is going to be in good hands, I've taken cloth seats apart before but never leather, that's why paying a specialist is going to be worth it, they are going to sort me a price to recondition both front seats as well.

so you've moved the location of the sidelight or just twisted the bulb so its pointing better?

No not moved the location, just as factory I just twisted the bulb so it was in its best position.

oh and did you secure the ballast with zip ties or just sticky back stuff?

I screwed them to the back of the plastic and used a small strip of sticky back foam/tape for any vibrating.

Added some more bits and pieces today, I fitted the satnav not long after I got the car but never wired it in properly.

I'm also planning a boot build soon so wanted to link up a sub and amp to the satnav so bought an extra cable for that and an extra cable to link up Aux so I can plug my phone and iPod into it to play music

Satnav all in working perfectly, very happy with it!

Heated seats still waiting to be finished off and waiting for Kufatec who supply the loom to confirm some fitting instructions for the live feed wire.

So for now... I'm starting to do my boot build. I want somthing that's sort of OEM and can be easily removed if required. The sub is a little bit on the large side but it's the only one I've got so will do for now! If it looks stupid I'll get a smaller 8" sub.
