Thank, not a bad job start to finish actually!

They are great, just been out to the shops tonight and it's 1.5° outside so freezing, popped them on 5 the highest setting and could feel them starting to warm through after around a minute so that was good :D

Great job mate, when you doing mine lol.

I hate mine first thing in the morning, just brings the whole inside temperature right down too. I'm tempted to change my front seats :)

Ooh jealous! I was sat in mine this morning about 5am freezing my nads off thinking how lovely it would be if they were warm!

My dads just bought a vrs so might be doing another set very soon :D

What was your outlay in total for them?

  • Author

£210 including fitting the heating elements in my leather seats.

Very good value really. Always did think it was a bit rubbish that they didn't add them to the SE spec when it came out.

And of course the fact that you weren't allowed to option anything!

  • Author

Yeah, im pleased with that, a good optional extra ticked off the list, and i guess the only SE with heated seats then?

Yea. Till I bring you mine to retrofit :-D

Got quite a few deliveries today which was nice.

First up was a stubby aerial, quite happy with it although i think its possibly a little bit to stubby :D

and side by side with the standard one, dont see what all the fuss is about removing them, unscrewed it, gave it a quick pull and it come straight out first time!

Also bought a genuine skoda boot net to keep the boot in order.

dont like the original chrome clips they come with so bought some black ones to blend it in, they can be seen in the top right of the picture.

Ive had no issues what so ever with my handbrake but thought i might as well fit some caliper return springs, they give the handbrake a good feel, so fitted them and took up a small amount of slack on the cable so it was perfect!

Didnt use any tools or equipment, just left the car in gear, blocked the wheel so it wouldnt roll and lent down the back of the car and stuck them on.

i always compress them, put a cable tie on, fit them, cut the cable tie. Nice easy way to fit them hassle free!

Can you grab a picture of the whole car with the stubby aerial Hutchy? I'm undecided.

Yeah no problem, i'll take some tomorrow in the day light.

like i say, im undecided as well.. but i think its just because im used to a great long aerial being there... looking at it, its nice and subtle i suppose.

Looks nicer than the long one for sure.. [emoji106]

I might grab one and get it fitted the day the roof gets vinyled up! Look forward to those photos.

Nice updates! Do you have the part number for the return springs and where you got them from?

  • Author

Thanks.

Part numbers are...

7H0615295

7H0615296

Dealers, TPS or eBay, all pretty much the same price. Around £7.

Most of my free times been going towards fitting the heated seats at the minute, so nothing really to update at the minute.

Almost complete now, just waiting for the leather trimmer to fit the heating elements.

Are the switches on the wrong sides of the switch bank?

I've got them fitted on mine the other way round to you.

Are mine wrong or does it not really matter? Having a few issues with my drivers side handbrake sticking on so might buy another set and fit the other way around.

Car looks great by the way, really like what you have done with it. Truly a special edition now!!

They were yeah, had to swap them round, was a 50/50 chance of getting the wiring the right way round :D

Thanks, one of a kind now!

I've always fitted them this way, I don't actually know which way is the right way, I'm sure some Google imaging looking under other VW cars would show somthing though.

I can't see it making a difference which way they go, I was lucky since mine returned back fully away so hopefully this will just make the handbrake feel more precise and spring back nice and tight.

Edit: seems you have them the right way round and mine are wrong, again can't see it making a difference, however now I've seen the right way I'm going to swap mine round :)

These are the wrong way round!!!!

The spring coil should be forward, hence the kink in the top arms.

The ns needs to go on the os and vice versa....

Oops just read the full post...
