Dirty car

Featured Replies

I'd like to recommend fitting the mud flaps available for the MK3. I got mine from superskoda. Really good price and not bad to fit.

Our car is 8 weeks old and yes we live in the Fens, but I found the dirt build up especially on the rear seemed excessive.

The mud flaps have been on a week now and despite it being a short time, they really do seem to have worked.

I will still wash "Monty" every week, but at least it doesn't look too bad by Friday now!

Hope this helps others with this problem.

Yeah I've got to get mudflaps all round asap as the lower rear panel gets filthy really quick.

I hope they are better than the Yeti ones which IMHO are about as much use as a chocolate teapot!

I had them fitted before I got the car. It's staying a lot cleaner than my old mk1 estate which did not have them fitted Joe

Had full sets of mud flaps on my Octavia, Fabia and now Polo. Certainly have helped to keep the cars clean. Keeping your polish topped up certainly helps as well, especially when it comes to car cleaning time!

First thing I did when I received my Fabia III was fit mud flaps all round - too used to the sills and rear lower quarters being peppered with stone chips on my other cars. The Skoda flaps are more substantial than the skinny 'trim pieces' which pass for mud flaps on other cars. And fitting was dead easy - screws are already in place in the wheel arches, simply remove (torx) screws and refit through mudflaps with an additional clip to go on the rears.

So no need to remove wheels and wheel arches? That would be great as Im considering fitting mudflaps. This additional clip is included?

I took wheels off for easier access but I suppose a Torx bit on a small (socket set) ratchet would do the trick. The screws you need are already in place and the additional clip is included in the mudflap pack.

Used a small ratchet and torx bit here and they were a doddle to fit with the wheels on.

Not to sure about the rear plastic clip holding forever though.

Sane here as stevie.d I found easy to fit with the wheels on and again I agree about the clip on the rear, not sure how long it will stay but then again I couldn't pull it off again.
