Bloody window regulators just went!

Featured Replies

Typical in the pouring rain on a busy day when my local garages are shut!

Go to put the window up and it stops and jams half way, press up again to move it and *twanggg*

Bugger it

Just had mine break just over a week ago now and managed to get a friend to sort it on Christmas eve. Pain in the arse as mine was all the way down!

Got a new regulator for £40, just need to drill all the rivets out now and swap them over!

Bad luck fella. :(

Any chance that's the door that has the leak, and you can kill two birds with one stone while you're fixing it?

Your right indeed, I've sealed three doors with plumbers gold, only one I didn't do was the passenger side front and that's the one the regulator has failed on!

Got to be done I suppose!

£40! wow that was cheap! how did you manage that price?

I had to pay £80 in Nov for a new window regulator from Skoda.

I picked the part up from eurocarparts so isn't a genuine Skoda item.

When mine went I managed to drag it back up and tape it in place until I got a new reg.

Looked rough as he'll but it kept the wet stuff out.

Special edition so race blue, but as above, already finished changing it :)

My anti-hijack doesn't work for that door now... Will it need re-coding or faults cleared with it being unplugged?

I've had the ignition on with the door unplugged so might have upset it?

Works perfectly fine every other time.

can't help you with blue m8 glad its sorted though

Window regulator is straight forward enough to replace, did mine a few months back. I held the window up in the meantime with those square adhesive cable tie mounting brackets. Stuck them to the glass right at the base which created a wedge that stopped the window from slipping back down.
