Monte carlo 1.2 105bhp

Featured Replies

Well that's for all your help. I've gone and bought it and am collecting it on Saturday.

But with regards to the spare tyre, My octavia has 17" spare and I'm guessing the mante has a tin of run flat. How would it be seen if I was to keep my octavia spare? I don't like the thought of a tin of run flat.

It's being px with the dealer and I'm guessing it's just going through the auction as it's a old model.

Good luck, hope you're happy with it! Doubt you'll regret your decision!

If you were closer I've got a set of 4 steel rims with decent snow tyres, used one season aprox 1200 miles, perfect condition no scuffs and 6mm tread. Looking to sell them and can't be bothered with eBay lol

You say you're guessing the Monte doesn't have a spare. So why not ring them up and ask them?

Ive called and they are going to call me back. Fingers crossed.

Yeah im sure ill be happy, as I said, I used to own a 1.9tdi version and was gutted when I had to get rid.

Added extra is that the sat nav has been installed into it as a extra on the production line, which is what I was after when I was looking for a new car. So win win I guess. The sales man said not many have this in, I just need to read up on it and how to update maps and link phone and stuff.

The Monte Carlo tech had this as standard, is it actually the tech model that you are buying? I'd be surprised if they put the sat nav in at factory level and didn't call it the tech.

Very easy to pair phone and make calls and stream music via Bluetooth. When do you collect the car? I always take the manual away with me as soon as they have it available, that way I'm one step ahead when I collect the car, there are manuals online too.

The maps on the Amundsen + are stored on the internal memory via a memory card update, is there any way you can get the dealer to throw this in as a goodwill gesture? It's a bit of a ball ache sourcing the update and installing it yourself.

as far as I am aware its not the Tech version, I may be wrong though I guess, the salesman never said it was.

You may only need the 1 for a spare but if you're keeping the car a while then a winter set will keep your alloys looking better for longer

I've guaranteed us all a mild winter by putting the winter set on in November when a cold weekend cropped up

Other than that I put a winter steely in the boot for a spare if I go on a longer journey, which is rare

Well I called and it doesn't come with a spare, just the foam rubbish.

Asked about swapping it with my spare/kit and said it can't be done. So it's £180 from them for a spare and kit. Bit ****ed but I'll live with it for a bit.

Plenty Spares available in 'For Sales' on Briskoda or other places for proper prices.

I have a couple unused, and also vRS 17" Alloys that need tyres on, but they are collection only as i can not be bothered posting.

(This is not an advert.)

As to a Salesperson not saying a Monte Carlo is a 'Tech' or not,

that is just par for the course since many have no idea.

Are all steel wheels the same diameter? Would it matter if I bought a 15" or 16" steel wheel??

And they are still 5x100 aren't they??

I mean tyre diameter, I obviously know the steel part differs.

Sizes for a Fabia are

195/55/r15

205/45r16

205/40r17

Just done my insurance and it is the Tech version.

I thought as much. I'm surprised the dealer didn't know this......no wait, I'm not at all surprised! Salesman was taking the proverbial saying not many had this in. Lovely little car, decent engine, comfy to drive, good looking.

I hated the idea of tyre goo, i stuck one of my winters in there as a spare and sourced a jack from another car (the one I gave as part ex)

I would highly recommend you get a centre armrest fitted, get the dealer fit one I would stay well clear of imitation ones from eBay, having gone down that route I regret not saving for the OEM one. And, if you can justify the £200 price tag I would consider cruise control as a dealer retro fit, if that's your thing for motorway driving. They were the two best things I did to my Monte, that and HID upgrade for the absolutely shocking lights.

Sounds like a big wish list after paying for the car but it makes ownership so much easier, saying that even without those bits it's a nice car.

The one thing I could never understand is why they decided to put a lockable fuel cap on it rather than an 'easy fuel' thingy and a flap locked with the central locking.

Me neither, but its abit crap imo. Once you've unlocked it, its not that easy to turn is it. My mum struggles quite abit undoing her Yeti fuel cap (which is the same as the mk2 fab one). And i can only imagine its completely horrendous if you're getting abit older and have Arthritis in your hands.

But, i guess it is less to go wrong? I dont rate it mind.

i have the armrest in my elegance as standard and i must say i do use it quite often.

as for the cruise control i can live with out it, i only ever use it on very long jorneys, and i only do them once or twice a year.

but yeah, arm rest and spare tyre are my 2 main wants i guess.

Armrest is £130 new, and sometimes they pop up on ebay for a bargain price. :)

just looking an ebay now, some very cheap ones for £10 but i guess you get what you pay for.

You do.

All the cheap ones are flimsy and crappy as a rule.

The oem one goes in place of the little square cubbyhole infront of the rear cupholder, and is held down to the floor of the car with 4 bolts into 4 threads which are already there.

Oem one is really sturdy.

Seriously love my Monte Carlo! 2014 and it runs so smoothly and is pretty quiet compared to my previous car (fiat punto). I use my car everyday, similar job to a pharmaceutical rep, so although it is known as a city car, I think it's more than capable to handle more than that. Definitely take it out for a spin

Picked it up this morning, really pleased.

Used to be owned by someone here as it was a briskoda sticker in the rear

How old is it, what is part of the reg?

VKF 2013

Ah right. I was wondering if it was mine, I just sold my 2013 tech and it went somewhere down south. Not mine though.
