Yeti Amundsen Nav Postcode input

Featured Replies

Hi,

We have just bought a new Dec 2015 2.0D L&K Yeti Outdoor 4x4 and joined the forum today. We got it to take our two greyhounds and it's great. However, we cannot see how to enter a postcode on the Navigation system. We saw a post in respect of the Amundsen system in an Octavia and a reply said that on the address input screen there is a small button at the bottom POCD or something like that you can press to allow postcode entry. On our screen there is no such button plus I can find nothing in the Amundsen manual. HELP Please.

Incidentally, after much research we have purchased Nokian WR D4 winter tyres and a set of winter wheels. We had trouble with one supplier who say they sent out 4 tyres but only supplied 2 (it's a long story) so ended up buying 2 elsewhere while we dispute this but these tyres are really good in the wet. We viewed some great video clips of D3 and D$ tyres in the snow on Yetis but likely now we will get no snow!!

Thanks,

K & K

When inputting destination press "City" and the postcode button will appear on the bottom left of screen and can then be used.

You are right, this simple instruction is nowhere in the manual :mmm:

Thank you Urrell. I tried this and it worked fine. It was a real pain before as we always use postcode with Satnavs.

Hi

I have the Amundsen+ system in my 2013 Yeti, the satnav has been fine till just now when I tried to put in a new postcode and the screen only gave me the option of picking country, I think in the past there was as stated above a city buttons as well that when pressed gave you the Post Code option.could it be that there is a limit on how many addresses you can have and that I have reached that limit?

I appreciate any help you can give

Regards

David

Hi, I have the same unit & funnily enough I had the same issue at the weekend. I think it might be because I tried to input a postcode as soon as the unit booted up. i left it for a couple of minutes, tried again & the usual postcode, city search came up. HTH

Hi

Thanks for that I have retried couple of hours later and it is still the same, but I have found I can get back to the Post code screen by following the following steps

1) Press the NAV button: Screen shows options : Press the bottom one showing a flag

the screen now shows  1circle button With COUNTRY shown to the right and two rectangular buttons underneath middle one shows Destination and the one to the right  shows ADDRESS

2) Press the round button under Destination:Screen now shows UNITED KINGDOM and two rectangular buttons underneath middle one shows COUNTRY and the one to the right shows LIST/OK

3) Press LIST/OK:The screen now shows list of countries with United Kingdom at top and three rectangular buttons underneath the first one shows POSTCODE

Press POSTCODE !!!! I hope this makes sense

There must be a way to get it back to how it was

Regards

David

Reset to factory condition might sort it. You'll lose all your settings though.

Hi

I did consider that but did not fancy loosing all the routes I have saved

No idea ......

but is there a full reboot ability......pull a fuse frinstance?.

I can get to the postcode screen using Urrell's method, but as soon as I type in BB7 the numbers are blanked out and I am unable to continue. There are not many buttons on this screen and i have tried them all. Anybody have any ideas?

Earlier today I deleted my list of 'last destinations', and in doing this have found that  the destination postcode entry option has gone too - unless I pick country first. Perhaps you have to have several 'last destinations' in the UK stored before it defaults to UK as the country thus giving the postcode option?

I just tried BB7 on my Amundsen Plus and it says Clitheroe Lancs and does allow some numbers (though not all) to be  pressed.

Are you sure that you have selected United Kingdom as the Country?

Jim

Thanks for that Jim, I have checked and was on UK. As soon as I select the 7 the numbers darken as if I should have finished or it was expecting a letter next.

Its expecting a space that needs to be entered on the letters keyboard, then seems silly but needs changing back to numbers.

It's easy when you know how.

I'm so glad you know Urrell, I should really have picked that up myself, will try it in the morning. Thanks.

Strange thing is that with mine I do not need to enter a space - as said before some numbers are available after entering for example BB7 Maybe I have a different software version?

Jim

I just tried mine again and entering for example 'BB7'   some numeral buttons are then still active and if I press  '4' it automatically puts in the space by showing 'BB7 4' ready for the next character.

Jim

I have to put the space in mine - latest Admundsen.

Another little quirk I've had sometimes is that I start entering a postcode and it then displays a list. That's fine but the destination I want isn't in the list! And it won't allow me to enter any more of the postcode, most frustrating.

Only way around it is to use the address/place method.

Are UK postcodes longer (for more detail) than international norms?.

Generally 7 digits including the space in the middle.

Excluding

I have the older Amundsen+ & it automatically puts the space in. I think the newer unit for the facelift model must have different software.

Another step forward!  :notme:

It only offers the numerals that are linked to an address in the database.

Hi Urrell, tried it today and it works fine. I don't understand why the system forces a change of page, to letters, for the space when it "knows" one is needed between the two figures.
