Does anyone know how to replace the bulb that illuminates the heater controls on an Octavia (1999 model)? Is it a radio out job, or am I missing something?

Thanks

Paul

Not sure - I had my heater control lights go, but fixed under warranty when it was in for a service. Might be a fuse though, well worth checking them first... :)

Rob.

paulj not too sure about the octy but on my furbie it is a couple of srcrews underneath the heater controls if similar be very careful as it can crack very easy :)

i had the same fault on mine & got it fixed under warranty & mine is a 99 model as well, did any of you manage to sort it easily, according to my dealer it is a big job with most of the dash having to come out.

on the fabia, the heater control cover just pulls off from the bottom, if it is the same cover, thats all there is to it. Although i'm not 100% sure that you can get to the lights like that.

I have a prob. with the recirc. switch, It doesn't come on so needs a replacement. Apparently It is part of a set & skoda don't sell it seperate, Too expensive for the garage to pay ( over

I have a prob. with the recirc. switch, It doesn't come on so needs a replacement.

A thought...have you tried rotating the dial so the airflow is going anywhere other than the windscreen and then pressing the recirc button?

Rob.

The actual prob. with the switch is it is lit green ( with headlights on) & when I press it it does not quite catch & so change to orange. The aircon one next to it is fine. It may be just due to it not sitting right as it has been off twice due to the faulty bulb. Its in at the garage prob wednesday for them to have another look at it. I wiil try diff positions to see if it works.

I only mentioned it because the recirc doesn't work when the airflow's pointed at the windscreen. I'm not really sure why this is the case (possibly something to do with humidity)...

Rob.

Thank you so much. It is fine. It works perfectly. The prob. was that it was on the windscreen setting.

So again,

Many thanks

You've made me a happy bunny :):)

pull the dial off. get a pair of long nose pillers and pull it out. use the pillers to refit.
