4x4 tdi

Featured Replies

Do any off you know are they going to do a 2.0 tdi 140 or 170 4x4 estate or hatch in new shap like the golf 4 motion

No plans to make the 4x4 with the 2.0 tdi engine i'm afraid which is areal pity and it's very unlikely that 170 will be brought out in a 4x4 if at all.

Good news is that the likes of Jabba can get up to 150bhp from the 1.9 engine as it's highly tunable.

Having looked at a showroom 4x4 I'm smitten but am caught between the economical but rattly TDi option and the more expensive but inevitably smoother and quicker 2.0FSI. And then to confuse me even further I've jsut seen the above!

Any more news on the 2.0 diesel option???

There are no plans at present to extend the engine range in the 4x4.

Above is a lift from the FAQs on Skoda UK website. I have asked the same question of my local dealer who says that the the 2.0 diesel would not fit but he did not elaborate.

I have a 4x4 and its only rattly on start up, my father was in it yesterday and he didnt even notice it was a diesel (he drives a Astra diesel himself). As I have stated before it could do with a bit more umph but as its loosening up now (nearly 2000 miles in slightly over 3 weeks! Gulp!) even that seems to be getting better.

All the vag diesels sound like a bag of spanners on start up but are fine once up to temperature. I've found that using BP Ultimate makes the car run a bit quieter and smoother but it really makes a big difference to the engine noise on startup. I forgot what a difference it made until i had to put standard stuff in the other week. The next morning I started the car it sounded like the engine was about to shake itself apart.

Gula faran - great update. Roll on week 22.

How do you know this?

Come on JohnW, you've gotta back this statement up!

Put it this way, if there is definitely a 2.0 TDi 140 4x4 coming out within 6 months I won't consider buying a Mk2 until I've test driven this new 4x4. However, if there isn't a 140 4x4 in the pipeline then I'll consider something from the existing lineup. Or maybe even a not-Skoda (may I be struck with foul pestilence for saying so).

Could it be that Skoda are being coy about the 2.0 Tdi 140 4x4 because they don't want loads of people holding off buying?! Seems to me that until the rumours are quelled they will lose business as some people won't buy anything until they're certain either way.

This seems to be the new colors.

Great news for you guys! Don't suppose your Swedish dealers know if us poor brits are getting the 2.0 Tdi 4x4 as well? There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth on this side of the water if it's a continental/American spec only 4x4 model.

I know BMW do this sort of thing (2005 325xi in America but not the UK for example), let's hope Skoda has more sense. I shall have to ask the next time I'm in the Skoda showroom but I won't hold me breath................ :(

It seems like there will be a new model of Octavia 4x4. A allroad model called Scout. 2.0TDI 140PS and 1.9TDI 105PS. Later perhaps 2.0FSI 150PS.

Wow, that looks great.

Having said that, I'm not getting my hopes too high for it being brought over here - there were many options on the old (Octy 1) 4x4 which never made it this side of the Channel :(

Now that looks nice! :)

:orb_yuck: That 4x4 looks like a Rover Streetwise or that Citroen XTR thing. No need for those tacky silver plastic extensions on the sills and wing mirrors. Alloys are better than the current 105 model.

The alloys are sh*te looking IMO. Looks like something my da would have put on his car. Don't even get me started on the matchbox styling either.

Orders can be placed now for the 4x4 2.0tdi (in Romania). I also got some price info- about EUR 2000 more than 1.9 (iirc)

Robert

The 4x4 2.0 tdi is also avaialble in the Czech Republic (see the Czech website konfigurator)

But not in Germany yet, as far as I can tell.
