Changing Skoda badges ? Is it easy ?

Recommended Posts

I haven't even got my car yet and am already planning a few little styling touches.

I'm getting a quartz grey estate but didn't opt for the black pack as I wanted colour coded wing mirrors instead of black.

I would however like to change the grill surround and also the skoda badges.

I've read up on the grill surround and it sounds tricky but do able.

I can't seem to find out how you change the skoda emblems or even where I can get black ones from.

Any ideas peeps.

Thanks.

Iv been looking myself.

Badges can be purchased from superskoda.....http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-original-Skoda-MONTE-CARLO-black-emblem

As i read it, i think you only get one badge for the price. Maybe someone can confirm.

And Im unsure on fitting. Im guessing dental floss(fishing wire) and plastic trim tools as there will probably be sticky tape and a few holes.

Nice and quick to get off, I used a heat gun just to warm the glue then used dental floss to cut through it.  WD40 help to remove the glue after else its just pick it clean.  Clean it well after and stick the new badges on.  I have replaced all of mine with black motecarlo's and the 230 black emblums.

Will take some more pictures in the morning but, here for reference.  The RS230 front and rear VRS emblems are black, not grey, in the V of VRS.

Have also put on black spoiler and the black exhaust tips from the 230.

Hi mate

I saw your car and was wondering if you removed the spoiler and sprayed it yourself or did you take it to a bodyshop?

Is it a perfect match with the wingmirrors and grill?

Thanks

Evening buddy, nope, I purchased it via http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-limousine-original-Skoda-Autoas-rear-trunk-spoiler-from-the-RS230-limited-edition 4 bolts to change plus a wee bit of sealant, fitted myself in around 10 minutes.  Undo and remove bolts, then using dental floss, saw through the glue.

I haven't seen any others on the road yet, feeling like rocking horse ****....

After my Mk1 was yellow, this one had to be. Luckily I got the wife's blessing...

I reckon she's a keeper then... The VRS that is lol.

Thanks for your reply i take it the bolts are located inside the boot, how was sawing away the sealent did you cause any damage to the paint work?

Nope, no damage to the paintwork.  Bolts are accessible from inside the boot lid itself, just open up the boot and youll see them.  Answering your early question, yae the paintwork is identical to the black pack and the monte carlo badges...
