parking sensors going nuts.

Featured Replies

Winter is well settled in norway and the temperatures has been a steady -10 to -15 degrees celsius the last 14 days.

my problem is when using the webasto to warm the car the ice and snow on the bonnet melt but freeze again on the bumper so the parking sensors get covered in thick ice resulting the sensors to beep every time i drive under 20 km/h.

removing the ice is not an option as it is so thick that the only way is to punch the fist in to the bumper to break up the ice and that i wont do as i am afraid to destroy the sensors.

since i never had sensors on my provious cars i asked the dealer when buying the car if it could be a problem With ice and snow on the sensors but he said it shoud not be a problem.

anyone else experience this? shoud they be so sensitive?

I also have problems With the radar giving a warning about loosing visibility or something but not as often as the sensors going nuts.

i know the problem proberly is solved if i stop using the webasto to warm the car but that is not an option .

annoying!

I think it's normal for snow/ice etc. to interfere with the parking sensors. You can change the settings in the car menu so that the sensors only come on when you press the button.

Ice and parkingsensors dont play well together.

I have the same problem.

And the Estate really builds up a lots of snow on the rear while driving. I almost needed a showel to open the boot :p
