Traffic jam assist

Featured Replies

I'm assuming this is only possible with the DSG box?

I've got the smart light assist on mine which theoretically means I could drive down the M4 without touching and pedals. Crazy.

Sorry mate that doesn't make much sense ! Do you mean traffic information as in the Columbus ? What has light assist to do with touching the pedals ?

Makes every sense according to the brochure. So, smart light assist includes Lane assist and blind spot detection as a bundled option. Using Lane assist and acc the car will brake to a stop in a traffic jam, accelerate and steer for you. There is a video on the skoda website. Presumably this cannot work with the manual gearbox, as you'd either stall or disengage acc when you depress the clutch to change gear, and of course it can't operate the clutch and gearbox when pulling away from rest.

ACC doesn't disengage when you press the clutch. You can change up and down the gears in a manual keeping the ACC active :)

Aah. OK it's not like normal cruise then? I noticed on my leon that does not have ACC it's not disengaged when changing gear.

Indeed it does work in manual though of course you have to operate the clutch and change gear of course.
