Phone Contact Address to Sat Nav integration.

Featured Replies

I would thought this was possible and maybe I am missing something in the Amundsen manual.

I am trying to use the addresses of my contacts in phone book to initiate SatNav directions to that address, but for the life of me cannot get it to work.

I hit the Phone button on Amundsen , and the select Contacts , gonto the Address line and select it. This does the go to the SatNav but ask to Check Address and I have to manually enter it from scratch!

Does anyone know if what I am trying to do is possible and if so enlighten me on where I am going wrong.

Thanks....

Im watching this too mate, as like you I get the exact same result, must be something to do with field mapping of the contacts me thinks.

In the same boat. The menu options in the Nav seem to suggest address details should be synching across and you can use them to "Navigate to" but in practise there isn't a store of addresses.

FYI I'm an Android user, how about yourselves Allan and Tim? Would be interesting if this is also a problem for Apple users.

Hi RB79, Like you I am an Android user and I have tried a few permutations of address formats in my phone book with no success. I feel this should work or be made to work. Glad I am not alone on this as I was beginning to think I was missing something simple.

Well finally managed to get this fixed. As timbox alluded it was all about address field mapping me thinks.

My phone is Moto G android v5.1 and my contacts are Google Mail contacts.

What I found I had to do was re edit the address fields of my contacts in Windows 10 PC which allows you to use a template to enter all the address fields into individual boxes for Street, town ,Post code etc and then save them again. This will map the fields into a format that the Amundsen Sat Nav will recognize. Seems to work on most of my contacts, other than a few that have oddball addresses.

So I am fairly happy. One thing to watch tho is that if you edit a contact on your phone it will undo the field mapping and screw that contact up and you will need to redo it in Windows.

Ah, ok, my phone is actually a Windows 8.1 phone which integrates with my companys address book via Exchange, I'll have to have a think about how I go about re-mapping the address but thanks for that Allan

Hi Allan

I have done this in Gmail Contacts App but has made no difference, the format is

Street Address

Street Address 2

Poat Town

Post Code

PO Box

Home/Work/Other

Have you more information od detailed format please?

Alan Bennett

I've been trying to get his to work since 2015, Google Contacts, Outlook 2010 Contacts, Samsung A40 Android.  Amundsen not found one address.

AllanWMCc, when you say ...in Windows 10, what program or database are you using? Importing to or exporting from?
