Smartgate and wifi direct on Android

Hi,

I am able to connect to Smartgate using wifi, but not using wifi direct. Have others had the same problem and found a solution? I am not able to upgrade the firmware of the Smartgate as I am not connected to the internet as long I am connected to Smartgate through wifi. It is possible to update the firmware manually, but where can I download the new firmware, anyone?

I have Andriod on a Galaxy S6 Egde Plus and found the same problem as you. I could only connect to Smartgate using Wi-Fi and nothing came up when browsing Wi-Fi Direct connections on the phone. I didn't find the app very useful so I haven't bothered trying to find a solution. If anyone does have the solution I'd like to know though.

Thanks for the link to the thread. Seems it is a common problem with Android. It is possible to upgrade the firmware through Web interface, but then we need to download the firmware file. Where can we find that file?

I've searched and can't find any Smartgate update file. The other option to update firmware is using the ŠKODA Service app but when I search for it on Google Play store it says it's not compatible with my device! Maybe the answer is to find someone with an iPhone and get them to connect and update the firmware because it seems Andriod users get forgotten :(
