it's the only point need coding? it will be plug and play with my new columbus and maxidot?

You will also need to code it to the gateway installation list but it's basically plug and play yes.

Interested to see how you get on with this, as this is something I plan to do.

Will you be taking pics and updating us with the install?

Installing it is the same as any BT module and Columbus.

Have a look on here for threads with details. Unless you have WiFi on the module (I've not checked the part number to see) then coding it is pretty standard as well.

Hope it goes well. Do you have a foam block for mounting it under the seat? If not, I think I have two in my garage if you want one.

Tried to message you, but has not worked.

I think that's because I'm not a Freedom member at present as I can't afford the fees (I know it's not much, but I don't have much either at present...)

I updated the module in Superb. I had to code the workshop number but apart from that PnP

For coding, what is really needed to be activated?

witch software is most likelly to be efficient to enable at most the maxidot to enable BT into and WIFI also?

Is all octavia maxidot from 2012 include this feature by default?  already have swing RCD displayed on maxidot?

Thanks

VCDS is the easiest software to use.

Without knowing what the current coding of the BT module and car is it's impossible to say what will or won't work.

When you have VCDS post an autoscan as you should be able to get this installed with no error codes :-)

What mean abou error codes? is just internally or when we use this module daily?

Without doing integration. The columbus can controle correctly the BT independant of maxidot?

They will probably only be internal and not effect usage. It will depend how the module and car is configured.

There is a good chance it will just work but you really should code the module properly to make sure you get full functionally.

As langers2k says, it'll probably work and you'll not know the fault codes exist until you get the car serviced by the dealer or scanned with VCDS.

They won't affect the Columbus being able to control the telephone module without Maxidot.

Fit it and it'll probably work just fine.

If it doesn't, then get the sewer or someone with VCDS to code it properly.

Then worry about getting the fault codes cleared.

Question. I haven t not buyes the polyster cover for bt module. What is the best place to fixe the bt module and be protected??

Mine are behind the climate control panel. Under the driver's seat is OEM position.

  • Author

You i can fixe it under the columbus rns rear of climatronic panel??

Yes, it'll go somewhere in there. Mine was fitted for me so I didn't see precise location but I know it's in behind the climate control panel.

i placed mine behind the climatronics too, sitting above the AFS xenon module/controller....

Probably one of two things:

- What phone are you using and is it connected using rSAP or HFP?

- Did you enable WiFi when you coded the BT module with VCDS, an autoscan would help.

no coding was maded. BT is plug and play installed on my maxidot and columbus.

I have tested with iphone 6 and OPPO Neo7.

This is the only option missed on this installation. all of the rest work fine.

I know that the iPhone doesn't support rSAP so you won't get WiFi.

As for the OPPO Neo7, I can't see anything online to suggest it has rSAP either. You might be able to root it and install the rSAP app: http://www.android-rsap.com/
